    Names with an “a” at the end sound more feminine in general and are usually names for girls, it’s just a coincidence.

    Ok here’s another part of the explanation, mostly all Latin names that are for girls end with an “a”. The German version of Mary is Maria, Eve is Eva, in Romanian Elisabeth is Elizabetha, etc. I suppose black people tend to go for the original spelling.

    Or you could just ask all the women on here to post their names and if they’re black. I’m not black and my name ends with an “a”, even my middle name ends with an “a.” > Maya Aida

    My two cousins who are both blondes are named Diana and Anda, my mother’s name was Aurelia. My close female friends are Anna, Catharina, Pia, Alexandra, Elisa, and Bella.

    And yes NK is right, I put the “a” at the end of my screenname to make it sound more feminine.

    Very funny. I actually don’t know one single black person in real life. The last time I saw one it was like 3 years ago.

    Also I left two non-a friends out because their names are too unique and anyone who would google them would come directly here, I hope that’s not cheating.

    I’m as white as white gets and both my names end in ‘a’. Also my nickname ends in an ‘i’ because I’m a girl. Male names usually end in ‘y’.

    I’m a white chick, and none of my names end in “a”. Like Chenoan, mine ends in “ey” and my middle in “e”.

    I see disney still hasn’t gone with a plus sized princess.

    I do kinda want to see this, as long as the songs aren’t atrocious (they sometimes are in the more princess-y movies (as opposed to say lion king or Aladdin)).

    How about no. If the world made it “okay” to be obese then what? Obesity is a BAD thing, like cigarettes and illicit drugs, all can lead to death if you have too much of it. To advertise obesity as a normal thing is not what we want the younger generation to see, just as we don’t want to see them looking up to anorexic celebrities.
    I also think Disney could make their characters more realistic with some more curves, or make them shorter or flawed, though then I think…would it be the same? No.

    whoa whoa did you actually see the movie? definitely the best Disney animation and plotting since Hercules/Mulan, maybe the best since the Mermaid through Pocahontas era.

    and they got the voice of Nip-Tuck’s CARVER to play the romantic lead. that’s some funny shit to me still.

    We’re all forgetting the really important question here. When the fuck did the south get princesses and royalty, and even more strange, allow black people to hold these positions? Totally blows my suspension of disbelief.

    It is because the movie revolves around Voodoo and New Orleans. For such a film, the princess would either have to be black or Cajun. They went for the former option.

    Back in college, I knew the girl that played one of the supporting characters in this movie. Doubt she’d remember me, I can only remember one conversation I ever had with her. She was a nice girl. Only person I know who’s ever had a speaking part in a big film.
