I believe the plight of black people now can be traced to his lack of leadership in those areas. Not to mention this individual was an ardent socialist and communist in his later years. I don’t discount his works, if only people would learn to separate the NAACP from his true nature.

I tend to follow the Marcus Garvey philosophy on blacks in America: we must become an economic power in order to have equal social footing.
