@...kurrgo: No, they’re family pets, the muzzles are so the public doesn’t get scared. It’s actually a family of circus performers, they have a could of baboons too and big snakes too. Pieter Hugo photographed them

@...kurrgo: They are probably very easy to untie and take off. But I’m guessing they are there more to prevent accidents due to unexpected environmental stimuli triggering some feral instinct, than for actual control.

These are still wild animals, they are not really under control. They are, at best, partially conditioned to behave in a fairly reasonable fashion most of the time. But as with any wild animal, you cannot predict their behavior all the time…
