Also are you kidding me? Roughly 60%, or somewhere around there, of Americans eat there daily. Some study a few years back claimed something of the sort.
@Tardex
60% can’t even be close. McDonald’s reported $22.8 billion in sales in 2007. I’m guessing that the average customer spends about $5 (I dunno, haven’t been to a McDonald’s in years). So that gives an average of about 12.5 million customers per day.
McDonalds sells for different amounts (converted to USD) in different countries. For example in Portugal, in touristy areas, MCD is ridiculously expensive, while elsewhere it tends to be in crappy factory areas and is especially cheap.
I seriously doubt that the Vietnamese or Africans are paying the same amount for McDonalds. That number has got to be off.
$5 per person was just a ballpark guess to estimate the number of customers based on total sales. If a significant potion of those sales are from outside the US (which is likely), then an even smaller percentage of American eat there daily. Saying that over half of American’s eat there everyday didn’t seem to be right, so I did a quick “sanity check” calculation.
I can’t even remember the last time I had fast food that wasn’t pizza, but on the other side of town (you know, across the tracks), there’s an intersection from which you can see Mcdonald’s, a Taco Bell, Chik-fila (sp) and a Wendy’s, Arby’s and some Chinese restaurant. No Burger King.
I am glad I am not the only one that was bothered by that.
People still eat McDonald’s?
I love the person who did this.

I see, point taken. I kind of skim over Tardex posts so I kind of missed that.

no way. the spelling should change.
Me too nyokki. I don’t eat fast food anymore. Rarely drink soda too. I did have Taco Bell yesterday, but it’s been months.
