    The Matrix: Rebooted

The best candidate for President and consequentially least likely to win.

    yoodle

    agreed

    RonThePirate

America is in a sad state when the most attention goes to politicians who are either black or woman. Should these be the big considerations for our next president? Emotion will always triumph over logic when dealing with the masses. It’s why we’re in a mess, and why we’ll stay in a mess. I believe Ron Paul would be a great leader, and it depresses me that he will not win.

    Cargen

Actually hes the MOST likely to win(in my book), cause when its down to it, alot more people are raciest/sexist/and or don’t like those candidates, that hes going to win by very slim. and hes going to….SUCK! i can foresee this already lol.

personally i think Hillary is my choice, for 1 reason. That she doesn’t have balls, all though figuratively speaking she has more balls that all of us but, she a woman none the less. and i think she will do the greater good for the USA, sadly i dont think the USA agrees.

    EvilDon

I thought Ron Paul was a rapper with a Jamaican accent… But I know little about such things (rap music and politics).

    HappyPig

Sorry, this is mean, but I don’t think anyone in their 70s should be running the US.

    vygramul

You mean the same Ron Paul who said:

“The Founding Fathers envisioned a robustly Christian yet religiously tolerant America, with churches serving as vital institutions that would eclipse the state in importance. Throughout our nation’s history, churches have done what no government can ever do, namely teach morality and civility. Moral and civil individuals are largely governed by their own sense of right and wrong, and hence have little need for external government. This is the real reason the collectivist Left hates religion: Churches as institutions compete with the state for the people’s allegiance, and many devout people put their faith in God before their faith in the state. Knowing this, the secularists wage an ongoing war against religion, chipping away bit by bit at our nation’s Christian heritage. Christmas itself may soon be a casualty of that war.”

    The Matrix: Rebooted

vygramul: it doesn’t matter what his opinion is on churches, just as long as he doesn’t want to make his opinion into LAW. Your entire “point” is irrelevant when discussing libertarian politics.

    Kaze

I keep looking at him, and all I see is Ross Perot.

    Lord_Gorlock

I second reboot’s comment. I may not agree with Ron Paul on all counts, but it doesn’t matter as long as he leaves me free to make up my own mind. People who really crave power, people like Hillary, are the people who scare me. They’re the ones who will take the first opportunity to start telling you how to live your life.

The Republican base is mystified why Ron Paul is doing so well in internet fund-raising… he’s basically the “Dennis Kucinich” of the RNC. If he gets past the South Carolina primaries I’ll eat a pile of shit.

    The Matrix: Rebooted

Lord_Gorlock, you are a gentleman and a scholar.

    vygramul

reboot: This sounds like a man a Libertarian can’t trust:

“Through perverse court decisions and years of cultural indoctrination, the elitist, secular Left has managed to convince many in our nation that religion must be driven from public view. The justification is always that someone, somewhere, might possibly be offended or feel uncomfortable living in the midst of a largely Christian society, so all must yield to the fragile sensibilities of the few. The ultimate goal of the anti-religious elites is to transform America into a completely secular nation, a nation that is legally and culturally biased against Christianity.”

If he calls the court rulings on this perverse, don’t you think he might nominate justices who would rule otherwise?

    The Matrix: Rebooted

Seriously vygramul, if I alone picked which of the Presidential candidates would win, I would go with George Phillies. If I had to pick from one of the two main parties, I would go with Ron Paul.
If you think the guy’s so terrible why don’t you quit giving vague, uncited quotes (would it kill you to link your sources??) and share with us which presidential candidate is better?

    RepairmanJack

    I concur with reboot.

    vygramul

Here’s a link off of Lew Rockwell’s page (didn’t want to try the html without knowing if it would work):

    www.lewrockwell.com/paul/paul148.html

As far as which one I think is better, I haven’t decided yet. All I know is that I’ve eliminated Kucinich, Hillary, Paul, and Tommy Thompson from consideration. As the primaries get nearer, I’ll spend more time analyzing the rest. It doesn’t look good.

    The Matrix: Rebooted

Thanks for the link vygramul. I would highly recommend that everyone browse through the Ron Paul Archives. There are dozens of scholarly, intelligent articles by Dr Paul on a variety of subjects. That’s why I would vote for him even if I disagree on one petty issue: he makes it perfectly clear exactly what he stands for and why.
vygramul, if you are even considering Hillary(who voted for the PATRIOT Act, the authorization of force in Iraq and supported numerous other abuses of government), then discussing the whether Dr. Paul is actually a libertarian is futile.

    vygramul

Nono, I *removed* Hillary from consideration. I haven’t studied the other candidates’ positions (I don’t trust the press to get the facts right) to know what to believe and what not to.

    The Matrix: Rebooted

OK, missed misread that as you’ve removed Kucinich, but were considering the others. I’d say that any other the top 4 contenders are so bad its not even worth voting.
