       I can trivially explain record ice in Antarctica. During the winter, both poles are WELL below freezing, even for salt water, so while the Arctic is melting, obviously it’s winter in the Antarctic. With the increased air temperatures from global warming, more water is evaporationg from the oceans, and more water in the air leads to more snowfall, which compacts into ice.

   Weird…for me, even when I don’t scroll, this faint, static-esque shimmer pervades the whole thing; more noticeable when you’re viewing it from dead-on 90 degrees, as opposed to viewing it from an angle.
   I should check the refresh rate…I’m looking at it on an Acer B243HL (1920×1080) btw.
