   Anyone who didn’t think that was a breath of fresh air in 1996 then they weren’t paying attention. Just because manufactured pop acts have become a blight on music in recent years doesn’t mean all manufactured bands are bad. Look at the Monkees!

     The Monkees are awesome! Sure, they started as a manufactured band. But they have been touring and playing live ever since. Mike Nesmith is back with them now. Mike and Peter Tork were always serious musicians. Davey Jones and Mickey Dolenz were British child actors. Little known fact: Stephen Stills auditioned for the TV show, but was turned down because he had crooked teeth.
