Ok, MCS has been up for 24 hours straight, with only a few moments of server downtime due to me messing around with a new site that I’m hacking together. To celebrate, I’m drinking and chatting in the IRC room.
As you may have noticed, the submissions engine is down. Guess what was causing all the downtime in the last week? yeah, that.
it makes me sad, but the server that mcs is on just can’t handle the awesomeness that the submissions were bringing, so I’ve ordered some new hardware and will be moving files and databases over this weekend. Then I’ll turn on the submissions engine again. Until then, please enjoy some posts from Tikibot.

ok, MCS+ people, i thought of you first, since you guys are the only thing that’s currently keeping the site afloat. oh, those ads you see? yeah, they have a 45 day or 90 day pay out on them, so I’m still waiting on payment for 90% of the site income. Egads! If you were thinking about mcs+, now’s the time to do it, because I just fixed all the linking issues, you can now view AND comment on future posts!
Also, everyone can now comment on nsfw posts. There was a problem for a while with doing that, but now I have that fixed, so go comment on those pornographic materials.
I’ve looked into the drop down comments, and I’m not sure what the issue is, so it’s going to take a significantly longer time to fix.
Also, I’m looking into how to ignore posts / comments by users. This is just in the exploratory phase and will likely be an MCS+ feature only when/if it happens.

I know that things aren’t working right on MCS. I’m trying to fix shit asap, but fuck if I know what’s wrong.
I was putting off a wordpress upgrade, maybe that’ll fix things, or maybe it’ll just fuck shit up more.

All I really want in life is another website of mine to take off like MCS did.
Golly, MovieTies.com is a good candidate for that. It’s a website that posts tie in items, some recent, and some not so recent. It’s even got it’s own RSS feed that you could subscribe to just to see the most recently posted items! The site is part of the TWG, so your username (if you have one) will work over there too, so please feel free to comment as much as you would like. Please.

I think I have the thing set up right, so MCS is on facebook now. Don’t want to use RSS to follow along? then become a facebook fan!
after 25 followers I get to pick my very own fanpage URL. Golly.
Now that I’ve done this thing, I’m wondering if MCS has any Iphone/Android app developers that would be interested in making mad scratch the users happy and finally rolling out a good application for those platforms.

I’ve been watching the MCS feed for the last month or so, and it’s hovering right around 3,000 subscribers, but never really stays above that particular threshold.

I used to use bloglines, but due to some feeds not updating and not liking their lack of updates, I’ve moved over to google reader. I do enjoy having just a single site to go to for all my websurfing, and it’s changed the way that I interact with the net in a fundamental way.
I’m often surprised that not everyone on the net uses RSS. WTF yo. I do thank you though, cause you’re the people that are keeping MCS up and running!

I have added some facebook “like” action to this here website, if you click through to the single posts, you’ll see a very facebook-like link below the post title. If you were to perhaps click upon this link, you’ll find that you have, indeed, “liked”, the post of which you have clicked upon the afore mentioned link.
I’ve tested it out on my own personal facebook, and I have found that it does work as intended. If you have problems, please keep them to yourself, or, tell me about them.
