@CathyLong:
Isn’t that what they generally say about albinos? They also say about white tigers that they’re actually sick, not albino.
This peacock is very beautiful nevertheless. I wish I could have one of his feathers.
-
CathyLong — November 26, 2008 @ 6:06 pm
well albino is a lack of pigmentation in the skin, a melanoma deficiency which is why teh eyes are also pale or red. Just being “bleached” in the feather region is no different than say, a white hen or a dove. It has to do with feather color genetics and not a defficiency or danger of sunlight exposure.

it is the opinion of this young man that this image is poorly shooped and that the shooper needs to have their eyeballs lacerated with a rusty spoon.
-
Tyger42 — November 26, 2008 @ 12:39 am
Your opinion is, in fact, quite wrong. I’ve seen dogs do that plenty of times. By the look of it, he’s not trying to hurt the cat. Which also is not an uncommon occurrence. Contrary to popular belief, cats and dogs are very good about “rough house” playing without hurting each other. And if it came down to a fight…cats aren’t as helpless as one might think.
-
tragerstreit — November 26, 2008 @ 12:42 am
Sure, dogs actually do this, Tyger, but do you REALLY believe this isn’t a photoshop?
..Really?
-
outofocus — November 26, 2008 @ 12:55 am
haha!
This doesn’t look shopped to me.
-
Theo11 — November 26, 2008 @ 1:19 am
You can clearly see where the persons hand is reaching up and flattening the cat’s ears. The dog’s mouth is pasted over it. The edge of the dog… looks like Helen Keller attempted to cut and paste it.
-
ohmybob — November 26, 2008 @ 1:22 am
Okay, the dog and cat are real, but they’re shopped into the photo with the guy and the kitten. I win.
-

-
Tyger42 — November 26, 2008 @ 2:46 am
@tragerstreit: The animals are probably shopped into the picture with the guy, ( Focus and lighting inconsistencies ) however, I think it’s a safe guess that the cat with its head in the dogs mouth can be real.
-
FlyingMantisShrimp — November 26, 2008 @ 2:53 am
I was there when this picture was taken, so I can assure you that this really happened.
-
nyokki — November 26, 2008 @ 3:22 am
FMS, everywhere…all the time.
My dog and cat do this all the time. He also runs up to her and shovels her into his mouth, then runs across the room before dropping her off. It started when we were trying to get kitty to stop scratching the furniture. Whenever we sprayed water to get her to stop, he’d run her off by scooping her up.
-
awfulintentions — November 26, 2008 @ 4:07 am
The image of the dog and cat are photoshopped onto the guy and kitten. Take a look at the atmosphere. Everything has a rosy tint except for the cat and dog.
Plus, notice the focal points. The focus is more based on the food on the table, yet the cat’s outstretched paw is the blurriest part of the cat. Shouldn’t be so.
It’s shopped, stfu.
-
Dreth — November 26, 2008 @ 7:03 am

this shit isn’t photo shopped because as the same part from @Theo11: said where the hand but he’s wrong look at the outline of the shadow and that’s the shadow of the dogs face cannot be a hand or else he’s retarded like Stephan Hawkins.
-
Paul_Is_Drunk — November 26, 2008 @ 8:40 am
Photoshopped. Very obvious.
Why do all photoshop threads turn into long arguments?
-
RSIxidor — November 26, 2008 @ 9:21 am
It wasn’t always like this. There was once a time when nearly all who attended this ingenious site would like at an image and say “shooped” without a second look. It was not until more recently that pixels were given as the reason. Back then, people just knew. They just knew, damnit.
-
Drew — November 26, 2008 @ 9:52 am
This is NOT photoshopped. The person used Fireworks. Idiots.
-
Tyger42 — November 26, 2008 @ 11:15 am
The most obvious give-away that the animals are shopped into the picture is their lack of reflection on the shiny surface of the table. :p The guy, you note, reflects. And he’s sitting too close to the table to have all that going on in front of him, anyway.
-
kezia347 — November 26, 2008 @ 11:57 am

oooh so cute!
-
sylvanish — November 25, 2008 @ 6:20 pm
@dieAntagonista: Yah as far as I know they are all born with a faded cobalt eye color, so I’m guessing this kitty is transitioning to a green eye color. Cosmically beautiful IMHO.
-
warren — November 25, 2008 @ 6:41 pm
The saturation is a bit high (note the nose and tongue, which are relatively brightly hued as well), but that’s basically a slight enhancement in color values rather than actual fakery, in much the same way that Kodachrome used to give much more saturated and vibrant colors than print film.
-
nyokki — November 25, 2008 @ 6:41 pm
I wonder how long that takes. I know in humans it’s about 2 years to complete. They just seem really blue, rather than baby mammal blue. The coloring of this kitty is beautiful too. If I saw him, I’d have to adopt him.

Tyger42 — November 26, 2008 @ 12:08 am
Human babies are often born with very blue eyes as well. Exposure to the light makes them change color. As for the cat, no, the saturation isn’t off. I’ve seen coloring that looks precisely like that. And I’ve seen that eye color in adult cats on rare occasions…
-
beckyw697 — November 26, 2008 @ 1:29 am
Most kittens are born with blue eyes. That picture looks slightly enhanced, but it could also be the lighting or something.

ZOMG I love it. It’s ze uber cute. I mean srsly. My cat gets tortured with water at least once a year. More isn’t really necessary, I mean those things lick themselves from head to toe 24/7. They’re probably cleaner than most people.

I bathe two of my cats once a year, unless they get a bad case of fleas.
-

I’ve only ever flea dipped cats. Other than that, unless they get into something nasty, they keep themselves clean. A lot better than dogs do. :p
-
Theo11 — November 25, 2008 @ 5:52 pm
I tried to bathe my cat once. It was similar to putting my hands in a weedwhip. Or perhaps a blender full glass shards. Either way, I won’t be trying that again.

How to wash a toilet, er rather cat
This was simply too much of a time saver not to share it with you.
1. Put both lids of the toilet up and add 1/8 cup of pet shampoo to the water in the bowl.
2. Pick up the cat and soothe him while you carry him towards the bathroom.
3. In one smooth movement put the cat in the toilet and close the lid. You may need to stand on the lid.
4. The cat will self agitate and make ample suds. Never mind the noises that come from the toilet, the cat is actually enjoying this.
5. Flush the toilet three or four times. This provides a ‘power-wash’ and rinse’.
6. Have someone open the front door of your home. Be sure that there are no people between the bathroom and the front door.
7. Stand behind the toilet as far as you can, and quickly lift the lid.
8. The cat will rocket out of the toilet, streak through the bathroom, and run outside where he will dry himself off.
9. Both the commode and the cat will be sparkling clean.
-
sylvanish — November 25, 2008 @ 6:05 pm

I don’t bathe my cat…she showers on her own. Seriously, she jumped into the shower once when I was in there stood there getting wet for about 10 seconds, then jumped out as if to say “OK, I’m clean now.” She’s also made a habit of jumping in after I turn the water off and standing in the puddles. My cat is f**king awesome!

My cat will jump in the shower w/ me. I have to keep the bathroom door open a little or she’ll sit outside of it meowing non-stop. She walks in between the plastic shower curtain and the outer cloth one. I have on of those huge shower heads and you have to be right under it to get wet. She’ll walk all around the tub and attack puddles. Every once in a while she miscalculates and ends up under the shower. All you can do then is get the hell outta her way.
