Holy shit. That’s disgusting. I suppose it’s a real comic of some kind? Too bad I didn’t know about it before The Onion pwned it. Vegetables ftw.

The people in the comic all look terribly ill.
-
dieAntagonista — October 26, 2008 @ 12:24 pm
As a thoughtful person, who knows people do stupid irrational things regardless of them being religious or not, I do not approve.
What a pile of bullshit.
-
Tyger42 — October 26, 2008 @ 12:47 pm
@dieAntagonista: The point is, they’re not blaming God for it or asking God to fix it. :p
In before ( or possibly slightly after ) the over-sensitive Christians with a persecution complex.
-
RSIxidor — October 26, 2008 @ 12:48 pm
As a terribly ill comic individual who’s not actually ill but appears so, I approve of your approvals, but do not actually approve of that which you have approved.
-

I approve of your approval of their approval but do no approve of anyone who approves extending this chain of approvals any further, unless they approve of a proof proving the nutritional benefits of prunes.
-
yawn — October 26, 2008 @ 1:03 pm
Shit. ^no = not
-
dieAntagonista — October 26, 2008 @ 1:06 pm
@Tyger42: See, poor assumptions. Because I’m not a Christian.
And I know what the point is, it just so happens that I think it’s a really bad point.
People always find a reason to feel as though they’re not responsible for their own problems, atheist or not.
-
Elepski — October 26, 2008 @ 1:48 pm
I’m in Boca Raton right now… it’s down off of Yamato Rd…. It’s Very nice… beach access too..
-
AlecDalek — October 26, 2008 @ 2:12 pm
@dieAntagonista: Yes, it’s called externalizing your problems. Like the small group of women who want to outlaw porn because they can’t find a husband. They don’t want to admit they’re the source of their problems. And I’m sure some of them are christian and some are Athiests.
-
AlecDalek — October 26, 2008 @ 2:14 pm
I by the way, am not an Atheist. I just hate christians. Well, just the ones that don’t act Christ-like.
-
Tyger42 — October 26, 2008 @ 2:41 pm
@dieAntagonista: See the word “possibly”. Look it up in dictionary. Take your snark about “assumptions” and shove it up your ass now that you’re educated on your own mistake.
And, yes, atheists find reasons to pass off accountability. But at least their reason isn’t a scary invisible man in the clouds. It seems religious types are MORE prone than most to scapegoating, but I acknowledge that it certainly isn’t exclusive to them by a long shot.
-
LukeV1-5 — October 26, 2008 @ 2:53 pm
In before people being self righteous.
Shit, sorry, why am I always late for everything, gorramit.
-
Paul_Is_Drunk — October 26, 2008 @ 2:58 pm
As an atheist and former devout Catholic (gotta brainwash them while they’re young!) I really like the third panel. The idea that you have to fear repercussions from something external to not do something bad says a lot about a person. Especially the idea that even the law isn’t enough.
Still, even atheists will find excuses to go to war or to not lose weight. Probably less often by a small margin, but still…
-
dieAntagonista — October 26, 2008 @ 3:07 pm
@AlecDalek:
Yeah or fat people blaming it on genetics.@Tyger42:
Gee, relax bro. I think you’re the over-sensitive one here. Now if the reason for people doing dumb stuff is an invisible sky daddy or something else is pretty irrelevant. Dumb is dumb.
There are enough logical and good reasons why atheists are better in certain aspects than theists. Only this one is mostly used by idiotic atheists, sorry.
-
dieAntagonista — October 26, 2008 @ 3:12 pm
I agree. I went to a private catholic school, and every time someone would tell me, “you don’t want to go to hell, do you?” I wanted to eat their brains.
Such dishonesty, it’s disgusting.
-
AlecDalek — October 26, 2008 @ 3:23 pm
To me, it doesn’t matter if you’re christian, muslim, or atheist, you’re like a referee that only counts the goals of one team. In my experience, if you truly keep yourself open to all possibilities, you find that none of them make complete sense. They all sorta just cancel each other out. So I just believe in whatever I can’t disprove. And I try hard to disprove everything.
-
dieAntagonista — October 26, 2008 @ 3:29 pm
@AlecDalek:
Summed up very nicely. I agree.

Geeze, some people are getting waaay too butthurt over this…
Great comic… Alec- soo true about that kind of dishonesty, as a former Catholic schoolgirl myself… I hated the place I went to, but I do know several very nice Catholics.
-
elzarcothepale — October 26, 2008 @ 5:46 pm
this really could have been a great “random item in a misplaced setting, I approve” thread, but people who think their silly opinions on silly stuff that has no bearing on reality ruined it. Good show on the approval chain however- I. . .appreciated it?
-
NoOneInParticular — October 26, 2008 @ 5:56 pm
All the panels have the atheist saying the wrong thing. For example, in the third panel he’s REALLY saying: “See, this land has resources that would make my life better, and since this is the only life there is, we’d better exterminate the inhabitants so that my life is slightly better.”
Just because you don’t believe in god doesn’t automatically make you a better person.
-
Phyreblade — October 26, 2008 @ 5:58 pm
Meh. Theist, Agnostic, Atheist, same difference. One blames a deity/deities, the next doesn’t who to blame, and the others just blame everyone else…
-
zaqsaw — October 26, 2008 @ 7:33 pm
Religion arguments : to long, didn’t read.
-
awfulintentions — October 26, 2008 @ 8:24 pm
As an awful bitch, I approve, too.
Christianity = Bullshit.
The world existed long before Judaism, the founding branch of what would become Christianity and Islam.
That’s proof enough that the religion and it’s respective parts are BULLSHIT. Seriously, one’s gotta love that homosexuality has existed longer then the religions that hate it.
-
Doctor Thompson — October 26, 2008 @ 8:28 pm
As the last poster, I approve of the comic, but disapprove of the generalizations it makes.
-
AlecDalek — October 27, 2008 @ 7:54 am
@NoOneInParticular: Just because you believe in God, it doesn’t automatically make you a better person.
-
AlecDalek — October 27, 2008 @ 7:58 am
@awfulintentions: That’s quite profound. I’m sure there are millions of gay people that lived and died before anyone decided Jesus (or any other religious figure) hates them.
-
mintymadness — October 27, 2008 @ 9:33 am
Anyone who is so against Christianity (or really, any other “religion”) that they fight to prove their opinion of it’s being “bullshit,” are no better than the biggest, bible-thumping, sunday morning baptist preacher that they are so strongly against.
Atheists - The biggest group of hypocrites on the planet. A “religion” based on hating organized….religion…
If you all look at this comic, and truly believe that every christian is like this, then you are more shallow minded and naieve than I gave you credit for.

Yeah, I’m sorry, Jesus is goin down… Look at him. He’s a wimp compared to Zeus. Sure, he might be able to walk on water, multiply random foodstuffs, change water into wine, even rise from the dead, but it don’t mean he aint’ gonna go down if Zeus smack shim upside the head…
Of course the other question is: Do these guys have something against actual clothing as opposed to sheets and bath towels or what?

-

I watched the cartoon before anyone had heard of this damn phenomenon. This and Monster Rancher. Monster Rancher was clearly a superior show, but inferior game. I still liked it, though.
-
JazzyJazzyJazzHands — September 22, 2008 @ 10:28 am
I was 13 and in 7th grade when Pokemon came out. I’m 22 and in my fifth year of college…and it’s still around and popular.
Played it on a Gameboy with the exact mass of a brick.
Stopped playing it when I realized how gay the evolution of Scyther was.
-

-
RSIxidor — September 22, 2008 @ 12:49 pm
I hope you’re kidding. DBZ is as gay if not gayer than Pokemon. At least girls can go, “ah, cute its a Pokemon,” instead of just looking at your silly cartoon and saying, “WTF! you’re gonna grow up to molest women! Leave me alone!

Then you scream, “WTF? Leave me alone.”

Caio — September 21, 2008 @ 7:57 pm
The history of mankind is 95% white, teleogistic in the most Eurocentric way possible, and doesn’t include South or East Asians, except as characters on the colonial stage?
That’s cracker history, not human history.
-
Puulaahi — September 21, 2008 @ 8:05 pm
yeah because Asians, Pacific Islanders and Africans never killed anyone or had sex…
-
Caio — September 21, 2008 @ 8:10 pm
Listen man. Look.
Primitive -> Egypt -> Mesopotamian -> Greco-Roman -> Medieval -> Colonial -> Modern
That’s a teleological lie that people - mostly French people - made up in Victorian times based mainly on Art history.
I’m not talking about killing or sex. I’m talking about the progression of events. It’s based on a dated Teleology for which there is no evidence. It presents a flat, unbalanced view of European change and progression based on values and ideas that most people aren’t even aware of anymore, but we’ve kept this quasi-religious myth supporting it.
I believe in that image up there about as much as I believe in Noah and the flood. That’s not the history of white people, and it’s not the history of non-white people. It’s religion for dead rich folks in Paris and London.
-
Puulaahi — September 21, 2008 @ 8:19 pm
It’s a cartoon. If someone made one of these covering every progression of humanity, it wouldn’t fit on one wall or ten. Plus you could divide it many different ways. The person that did this had to generalize. Obviously this wasn’t done by a complete scholar. Shouldn’t the early humans have dark skin too.
-
AbNo — September 21, 2008 @ 8:43 pm
Well Caio, if you don’t like it, you could, I don’t know, draw your own damn picture?
