Why even consider this?
The buildings used to be offices. Now they want to “invest” (read: waste) money on fancy-looking shit for butthurt dumbasses that will contribute next to nothing besides the magical disappearence of valuable money.
Use the money on something worthwhile like a program for killing off bums.

And as I understand it, problems grow around society and the workarounds for those problems turn into part of the society, so if the original problem is taken away then society (or at least a part of it) seems to be affected negatively.
So what to do? Let the problems pile up, find ways to almost neutralize them but not completely because something, someone, somewhere out there, depends on this flawed infrastructure. Drugs, guns, shelters, rehab centers, medications, loans, etc.
But I’m a puertorican, don’t pay attention to me.

massive concrete hardening of the foundations so saudi agents cant try
to bomb it again
massive surveillance so that anyone with skin color darker than cafe au
lait and/or anyone with anything resembling a kaffiyeh/burkah/hiqab or
sikh headgear (sorry, sikhs, you’re collateral damage) never get
within 2000′ feet of the entrance (and certainly not inside, ffs).
oh, and also everyone who enters undergoes “Gattaca” type ID checks
and (almost forgot this one), place demo charges at the midpoint of
the buildings so that IF a plane DOES hit the towers and causes a
massive fire that would tend to weaken the foundations and allow for
a plausible collapse of the building, the same conspiracy that knocked
down the first WTC towers can again destroy the second WTC in a
controlled demolition, under cover of terrorist alibi (win/win).

Apparently (based on the 2 downvotes), my question annoyed people. That wasn’t really my intention. Let me rephrase: I don’t think about 9-11 constantly. I’m sure if I did, I would be a different person with different behavior. I can’t imagine what that behavior would be though. What should I actually do right now, as a result of remembering 9-11? How should my daily behavior be different? These are not rhetorical questions; I’m actually curious how others have changed their lives because they think often about 9-11.
My teachers used to tell me that “there are no stupid questions, only stupid answers.” Downvoting my question rather than answering it, no matter how obvious you think the answer is, does not actually convey any information to me besides some anonymous disapproval. It is essentially the stupidest possible answer in this medium.

How can I forget? I was the first in my family to found out that something was amiss that day. I awoke to the radio station that normally was all shits and giggles. But this morning they were dead serious and extremely confused a what was going on in the world. So I ran upstairs, turned on the TV and several minutes later the second plane hit the second tower on the live feed. Then the networks replayed it all over and over and over again. The planes full of people flying into the buildings, people jumping out of the buildings to their death, utter chaos in NYC and naturally stories from the fire fighters, police officers and the survivors that were there. Many years later America hasn’t changed for the better, but for the worse. Our moral compass is more fucked than ever.

I was at work at a Subway sammich shop, and it was just me and the store owner, and his wife kept calling the store everytime something new happened. I didn’t get to actually see what the situation was until I got home and turned on the tv.

I was working in a nursing unit and one of the nurse’s aides kept saying “That’s what you people get for invading my country! Justice at last!” and other shit. She was asked to leave, then forcibly removed.
