Mosin Nagant, Russian actually. The Kar98 has a curved bolt, the nagant has a straight one.

Also the forward sites are circular, like the Nagant, the Kar 98 has a 3 pin system. Not actually name, just describing the shape.

At first I too thought k98 but then realized the straight bolt…tricky little rooskies.

Use to fire my roommates k98, thing had some wicked kick and was far heavier than I realized. Damn old school iron welding.

Huh? Its a Mosin-Nagant, a few years ago you could buy the damn things for $30.

Nagant. The dog-collar sling gives it away. The sight aperture is also a good one.

For the record, there are plenty of Mausers with straight bolts, the first one that comes to mind is the Turkish Mauser. However, the Turkish version is significantly longer than the KAR-98.

Having owned both, I’ll take the Nagant any day. Much more simply made, and with less parts. The only thing I liked more about the Mauser was that it loaded off stripper clips easier.
