Knobles – a walk through history.

One of the best parts about Knoebel’s is not numerious thrilling rides, like Universal or Six flags, but the fact that it is deeply rooted in history. The family has went out of their way to obtain extremely old rides, & restore them. When such rides can not be obtained, they build them in homage & sometimes provide the only such example in the world, such as the Flying turns trackless “coaster”.

OF course, the Phenox is perhaps the most thrilling coaster in the world. You spend an amazing portion of it out of your seat….

Knoebels Amusement Resort is a family-owned and -operated amusement park, picnic grove, and campground in Elysburg, Pennsylvania. It is and has been America’s largest free admission park for 87 years of operation. Opened in 1926, the park has more than 60 rides, free admission, two wooden roller coasters, a 1913 carousel, and a haunted house dark ride that was featured on the Discovery Channel. The park and its rides have won awards from organizations such as Amusement Today, American Coaster Enthusiasts, and The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions. In 2014, Travel Channel rated Knoebels number 2 out of their Top 10 Family Friendly Amusement Parks in the country.[1]

Knoebels won the Amusement Today Golden Ticket Award for best amusement park food for 14 consecutive years from 1998 until 2011, but dropped to 2nd place in 2012, narrowly losing to Dollywood,[2] but in 2013, tied for 1st with Dollywood.

Members of these United States armed services get a free ride-band, and dependents get 10 dollars off.

I’ve been playing a bit of the Destiny Beta on PS3, and boy howdy it’s been a blast.  I do have some concerns about the story, as it does seem to be a convoluted mess at the moment, the key example being the first line of the game is something along the lines of “Ah, you’ve been dead for a long time, the world has ended” and then they never talk about it again.  Also, it seems that they’ve removed the Moon Wizard line, which was a damn shame as I haven’t been able to experience it for myself.  For all my concerns though, there are many things that they’re doing right.  I’m getting a distinct MassEffect3 feeling when I’m running around the Tower (the social/common area in Destiny), and the combat is some of the smoothest that I’ve experienced in my admittedly limited time with FPS games on the PS3.

What I’m interested in though is trying the three man fireteam out, but I have no PS3 friends.  Feel free to add me : tgiokdi and shoot me a message about the game.
