  • Comic Review for week of August 16th 2019

The end of a relatively interesting story that never really captured me. This was my first real introduction to the character and for all intents and purposes she’s a fairly irredeemable character

Two fun stories in a book that has a legit spine.

Good wrap up of a story that I would have read 10+ issues of. I hope they revist this planet and history again.

Spock rocks the vote, all while the Enterprise is helplessly floating around space doing not much of anything because of a mutiny attempt.

Good wrap up, I suggest this mini series, it’s goooood.

I have all the back issues for this on order and they should be to me by next review!

I’m still surprised at how earnest and wholesome this series has ended up being. Sure, it opens on a decapitation, but that served the story well.

    Hit-girl makes some new friends!
Hit-girl’s new friends get all shot up!

“You wanted Vader? Well here he is!” he says as he runs from Vader. i’m happy to see this bounty hunter back in action, and i’m really happy I read star wars 108 before this series started.

    Shaun of the Dead

Directed by Edgar Wright. With Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Kate Ashfield, Lucy Davis. A man’s uneventful life is disrupted by the zombie apocalypse.

The man with red on him, I told my wife about how hilarious this movie was, bought it, put it on, then she didn’t laugh at it even once.

    Speed

Directed by Jan de Bont. With Keanu Reeves, Dennis Hopper, Sandra Bullock, Joe Morton. A young police officer must prevent a bomb exploding aboard a city bus by keeping its speed above 50 mph.

A great movie, but man I lose track of what happens after they get off the bus so easily. To remind everyone else, they go into a hole in the ground and get on a subway car, which then crashes into a construction site.

    Battlestar Galactica Razor

Directed by Félix Enríquez Alcalá. With Edward James Olmos, Mary McDonnell, Katee Sackhoff, Jamie Bamber. A two-hour Battlestar Galactica special that tells the story of the Battlestar Pegasus several months prior to it finding the Galactica.

Suffice to say, the Pegasus was up to absolutely no good before they ran into the Galactica. This is more of a “what if BSG was a bunch of ass holes”, instead of being the paragons of virtue they were elsewhere in the show.

The gratifying end of a 3 Act journey.

A helluva ride; entertaining, thought provoking and tragically underrated.

Krypton Canceled After Two Seasons at Syfy Network Not Moving Forward on Lobo Spinoff

“Krypton” has been canceled after two seasons at Syfy. In addition, the NBCUniversal cabler is not moving ahead with a planned “Lobo” spinoff. “Krypton,” set two…

This is such a shame, I really enjoyed the first season and their version of Brainiac is the best one. Their version of Zod is best too, and should I even mention how perfect Lobo is here?

    What a waste.
