So I saw a trailer for Gears of War 2, and I asked a friend if Gears of War 1 was the same way. He said yes, and I removed it from my GameFly queue. I’ve had enough of games that look like shit, and play like shit, no matter what their mythology. If the guy attacking me has the same color palate at the floor plating, then I have no desire to play it.

1980’s Flash Gordon with Sam Jones is a monstrously good movie if you like cheese factor. I was totally obsessed with the movie as a kid.
The new SciFi channel series of the same name, which I hope has been cancelled, was unwatchable.

HAWKMEN……DIIIIIIIIIIIVE!
cool, but not as cool as General “The Silver Faced Pimp” Klytus, played by the epic Peter Wyngarde

Ah, I never watched Flash Gordon, but I did read a Mad Magazine TV special which featured “Hawkmen.” It was odd and confusing. Why the heck does my comic book feature these silly creatures?

“Quarterback, New York Jets.” Best qualifier ever for savior of the universe in the face of Ming the Merciless.

^Except in the comics he was a polo player. Too whitebread for the film, perhaps?
