I used to draw all the time in high school, but I quit for some reason until fairly recently. So the timing on this theme day is perfect.
The first thing is a painting that I just added to… I found the canvas in the basement of the house I’m living in. Previously it was just a simple beach landscape at night – kind of uninspiring – and then I added the creature. If you notice in the right hand corner of the full pic, it’s says JSF/70. (I added JV/10.) I thought it would be cool to leave it in a corner somewhere and maybe somebody will stumble on it and add their input in 40 yrs. The other things are drawings. I tried to capture a still living decapitated head (it was a theme I was working on, I guess). The next one is my estranged wife. And finally, my favorite part of Resident Evil 2.

I unwittingly contributed to this mess….
Here’s the background story: my boss an I have a serious Diet Mt. Dew addiction. When we have a meeting, it’s – hey, grab one out the fridge. Sweet.
So, OUR boss and a bunch of co-workers took all the DMD’s (and a few other Mountain Dew’s) out of the recycling bins, and now you see the aftermath.
Last Monday was his 49th birthday. So, I clocked-in @ 8:30… he said, check this out. I lol’ed for a minute and said, hang-on, I gotta get my camera.

Growing up in the NE corner of Dayton, OH (Forest Ridge), I could see the huge star-shaped emblem of the Air Force Museum hanger from my bedroom window. (My father worked at Wright-Patt) If you\’ve never been there, it\’s really cool…. and free. So, my mother took us there frequently when we were kids. This was my favorite plane: the Strawberry Bitch. As a kid, I didn\’t even know what a “bitch” was… I just thought the painting was cool. These pictures are from my phone so forgive the quality. I didn\’t get a picture of the Flying Tiger – my bad.

back in high school & shortly thereafter (the stoner tippin\’ days), we always thought the courthouse looked like a monster… but it took my 10 yr. old daughter to really capture the feeling. Last Thursday (I think, I was bullshitting, hanging out with the neighbors) she asked if she could borrow my camera… fine, be careful, etc. – at one point I remember saying, get the hell out of the street!! what the f*ck are you doing?!?!
well, tonight I finally looked at the pictures. holy crap.

I\’ve had this little guy FOREVER… like since I was 3. My mom said I used to call him “Buddy” because he looked like one of the neighbor kids with that name. Not really sure how I ended up back in my possession. Regardless, Buddy is pissed off.

Piper is now a great-grandmother at 9 yrs. old. I know because her kittens were scattered amongst my friends & family. I used to have one of the cats from her first litter (of 2), but he started pissing everywhere – long after he was fixed – so he went to live on the farm. (I think he really hated my one roommate at the time, seriously. He just pissed all over his stuff.)
I like the outside picture because the focus is on her face, but the rest of the picture looks schizophrenic – like her. I like the other one because it shows some of the apartment I’m living in now with the freakin’ gianormous front door.

This is a Halloween costume we made for my daughter: the Headless Prom Queen. The town I live in has a parade & costume judging contest for the kids. She took first place…. well, for her age group. But! one of the judges told us, if they could have picked an overall winner for the day, it would have been her. The stares and laughs she got were priceless. She had a blast. And no, she’s not some crazy freak kid; last year she was a princess, the year before a bumble bee.
