I doubt they will SC:Ghost-it. The flow of information and beta videos is much more constant, imo. I’m not a huge RTS fan, but I’ve wasted many hours getting owned by me SCnerd friends at several lanparties

That huge lower lip is stupid. I don’t know if it’s supposed to generate downforce, create smooth-flowing air under the car, or what, but there has to be a more aesthetically pleasing way to accomplish that, it looks like crap. And the front air dam looks like a big dumb open mouth. I wouldn’t buy it (even if I could afford to). I do like the rear, side panels, and roof, just the front end and headlights need work.

Yeah from the looks of it, the lip looks kinda like an inverted airfoil. Probably there to provide down force, but I agree, it looks stupid.

Well, this is probably coming from someone who will never be able to afford either, but, my favorite car (that I could never afford) was the Ferrari F430 (what Will Smith drove in Bad Boys II, I think), but was then replaced by the Lamborghini Murcielago (thanks in part to the fact it was driven by Christian Bale in Batman Begins). So I have to say that they each have a model that I highly desire.

@schulz: Yeah, the recent LP640 is an incredible beast allright. Heck, even their designs from the 90’s still make me wet my pants. Tho, I hear these cars have a horrible exhaust note, supposedly loud enough to damage your hearing at close range.

I’d be worried about the amount of rail/track/area that it takes to turn. Does it just go in straight lines? How does it navigate hills? That seems like it might be a bit easier than turns. But I still would be hesitant to put it on long sections of track. Cool idea, and it does look slick tho.

ontopic : its all about zero-friction, so i doubt its turning capabilities are based on the supposed flexible body grinding into the side of the rails

Well, I’m saying if it isn’t supposed to touch the track, how does the moving vehicle NOT touch the track when it needs to turn? The track doesn’t move with it, I would guess. Maybe I need you to give me more detail on your previous answer if you answered it in your post.

Now this thing looks cool. Streamlining at it’s aesthetic best. They could create larger rail clearance areas at the front and rear of the chassis with articulated rail followers in order for it to handle turns.
It could be done without really affecting the aerodynamics all that much. But it would effect it’s energy efficiency. There is always a tradeoff…

Or they could require a really, really, wide turning radii for the tracks…
