Man, they had the best medicines back then. Too bad THE GOVERNMENT is now keeping these honest businessmen down, in the name of their supposed "safety" and "drug facts" and "not wanting toddlers to go blind". Actually, she's just a sheltered, ignorant twat who is in love with her own sense of self-righteousness and doesn't give a shit about silly things like facts or evidence. Just like most of the "new" Republican party.

paperbag.
then maybe.
-
least she does her job, fucking illegals need to GTFO!
-
She doesn’t do shit. Just look at anything she’s doing other than the bill- which is a highly publicized and controversial bill that’s drawing a lot of fire to Arizona while not actually doing anything new about illegal immigration other than making it a crime to disrupt the flow of traffic while hiring day laborers. The state budget is fucked and beyond, but the state government is wasting their time on stupid bullshit.
-
I can’t speak on other things shes doing for Arizona but all i know is that its the federal governments job to secure the border and they are not doing it.
-
And neither is she. This bill doesn’t do shit about the border. It doesn’t do a fucking thing about the drug runners or the armed gangs that politicians tell us are a constant threat, and that they claim this bill will somehow help with. I’m still waiting to see how that works out.
“When apprehended, he was carrying several kilos of cocaine, an AK-47, and he shot at several cops, wounding two- plus, that fucker is an illegal immigrant, too! Thank god we can finally do something about it!”
-
It’s not the federal government’s job to secure the border, it’s the federal government’s job to protect against foreign invaders.
Mexican job-seeking immigrants are not a foreign invasion force. Neither were the Irish, or the Germans, or the Italians…
-
You sir are just fucking dumb.
-
You know you’ve won your argument when the opposition resorts to name-calling. The truth hurts, doesn’t it?
-
Good point.
-
Trying to appropriate pieces of history to current conditions is stupid.
Yes the Irish came to America in droves. But the economic construction was so different to what America is now they’re completely different animals.
Case in point: Ireland wasn’t in the flux of a drug war where the cartels are were winning and right now Mexico is with the drug industry eclipsing all other ways to make money in Mexico.
The ignorance in this scenario really is on the part of the people who think crime isn’t coming over your border. It is. When you have people desperate to break the law (immigrate illegally) the career law breakers will always take advantage.
Use your head.
-
The problem with the bill (and I’ve read it several times) is not it’s stance on immigration. There’s nothing in the bill that violates Federal or Civil law. The problem stems from the power and tactics local law enforcement were given to stem the tide of illegal immigration.
If a cop says you’re illegal, you’re illegal. There’s no vetting; you’ll be deported. In order to avoid deportation, you’ll need to always carry a binder full of papers to prove you are here legally. Even then, that may not be enough. Politically and strategically is sounds good and sane. Tactically, you just can’t effectively do it.
-

A legal driver’s license or a green card is all the proof you need to establish that you’re in the country legitimately.
-
exactly
-
Also, I don’t think you understand the slightest thing about how deportation works.
-
I once new a gentleman and his wife who were from Peru working at a hotel/restaurant in Galveston. They were immigrants in the U.S. legally as migrant workers and this man carried with him ALL of his papers at all times. When I asked “why do you carry all that around?” he said “because it’s the law…” I am a U.S. citizen and I didn’t even know my own immigration laws and obviously the majority of others do not either.
One way to prevent illegal immigration is give employers more rights on their end. Currently if someone presents a SS# you cannot question if it is fake or not. If the employer does not hire that individual they can be sued. If the employer is caught hiring illegals they can be severely fined. Sure you are correct this law does nothing, but squeaky wheel gets the grease and that is exactly what this state legislation has done.
-
I wanna see her naked with a whip.
-
There is already a federal law on the books that states that if you are not a legal alien, then you must carry your green card on your person at all times.
If you ARE legal, then you will have a green card and can therefor prove you are legal to be in the USA, no matter what a cop says.
Cops in AZ are going to be VERY careful about this, if for no other reason than the HUGE spotlight already on them.
-
Except for Sheriff Joe Arpaio. He’ll take it as an excuse.
-
-
Doing his job is not developing prison camp systems of forced labor and chain gangs.
You are a douchenozzle.
-
if you went to jail for committing a crime, wouldn’t it be incentive not to commit said crime again or another crime to avoid going back to said jail if you were forced to wear pink underwear and do manual labor outside for 8 hours? Sheriff Joe isn’t making the jail in maricopa county a vacation for the inmates.
-
What prison would be considered a vacation? How bad does life have to be for any prison time feel like a vacation?
-
Turns out, Maricopa County AZ, where Sheriff Arpaio has his prison camp, has rising crime rates with the Sheriff’s office focusing on illegal immigrants as opposed to other crime. Guess that Arpaio’s strategy isn’t working.

95.7% said yes.
Nearly 20 other states considering similar legislation–

With most states, you have to provide a stack of paperwork to prove your identity to get a state-issued license or ID card, either of alone should be enough to prove citizenship or legal immigrant status.
To me the whole immigration thing sounds like it’s along the same lines as someone breaking into your house and then claiming it gave them the right to live there while you provide room and board for them.
I don’t care if you got here legally, that’s cool, but, as Dennis Miller once said; “If you want to come in, just sign the fucking guest book.”
-
I saw that they arrested 81 people they thought to be illegal immigrants, out of those 28 were US citizens. This would count as a fail in a controlled science experiment.
-
You see, the problem with your first sentence is that it could be interpreted many ways.
You wish us to interpret it as: 81 people were arrested because they were illegal, but as it turns out 28 were not illegal.
However, I believe the law says you can only ask identification of people who are doing something illegal. So, the sentence could be interpreted as: People were arrested (for committing crimes other than being illegal). They were unsure of the citizenship/immigration status of 81 of those people arrested. When checked, it turned out that 28 were real citizens.
In that case they have now arrested 53 illegal immigrants who were committing other crimes in the US. That seems more like a win in my book.
-
I’m really happy she’s doing this.
People can sit around and bitch all they want, but seriously, Arizona has a very unique problem that most of you could never fully understand. I live on the Mexican Pipeline. They come through my town in Utah every day, and over 1/2 of them are bringing in drugs and gangs. My town, in the past two years, has been graffiti’d, robbed, and raped by these fucking illegal pieces of shit almost every day.
Why? Because of the stupid mentality of ‘We want amnesty for our minorities that are struggling. We’re not going to arrest you because your here illegally. We are not native Americans so we can’t judge. ‘.
My family came over legally, like most of the Americans on this site. They worked hard to become a citizen of this great country, and us letting those fuckholes down south come up here whenever they feel like it is a slap in our ancestors face.
Shes trying to save her state from becoming New New Mexico. And our worthless President has his head so far up his rockstar ass that he can’t even see the problem. And yes I know, Bush was apart of this shit too.
In before Republican redneck dickface. I’m an Independent you fuck head.
-
Funny you say that, my mother had to leave her country and enter the U.S., illegally when it was a shit storm in the 80′s.
She still worked hard and earned her citizenship. So that my health could be neglected, and I could be constantly harassed by the Worlds Largest Sheriffs Dept. (LA County) in my neighborhood.
Thank Jesus Christo I don’t live in Arizona.
-
How often do you vote republican? Because if you always do, how independent is that? Also, can you point to any statistics that show that “over 1/2 of them are bringing drugs and gangs?”[sic]
-
Wow, took all day. I kept waiting for the ‘Wheres your stats for this?’.
Hows about my FUCKING EYES. I do not need some asshat in a building to come up with pie charts for this.
PS: I have statistics that state you’re 100 percent douchebag.
-
I was working most of the day and didn’t get on M[c]S until I got home.
So you pulled your stats out of your ass. Did you have to move your head out of the way first? You could have just admitted that you don’t know and are just guessing, but that would have impinged on your righteous indignation that someone bother question you.
-
No he used his actual experience.
Your opinion is whats pulled out of your ass along with 10 quarts of HIV infected semen, a string of beads, a glove, 2 hamsters, 17 cents in pennies, an iphone, and your parents phone number scrawled on a crumpled piece of paper (just call them. they can’t hate you any less than they already do).
And that was just from that days work.
-
He made it up and admitted it. That should shame even you.
-
He’s living it you fucking idiot.
Jesus you’re going to try and argue against personal fucking first hand experience?
You’d rather go by census charts on…law breaking? Are you that fucking dumb? Really?
Just shut the fuck up already. You’re always wrong and its embarrassing.
-
His first hand experience is not reliable based on his obvious stated bias.
I honestly don’t care if it is 50%, 10% or 100%, but I want a verifiable statistic, not something simply made up. I’ll accept whatever the reliable data is, which is where we differ.
You are happy to take this at face value because you think it makes me look bad to not rely on hearsay. Thats fine. I’m not really worried about your constant chatter since it never amounts to anything.
You should look into the lack of reliability of eye witness testimony, cherry picking of data, the fallacious generalization and confirmation bias before you just accept a person’s claims because they say that they have some special kind of validating experience. If not, you just accept any silly conspiracy theory because it fits your already warped worldview.
-
HOW DO YOU GET A VERIFIABLE STAT ON ILLEGAL ACTIVITY?
ASK THEM?
USE YOUR FUCKING BRAIN.
THE GUY LIVES THERE AND….LIVES IT. A FIRST HAND ACCOUNT IS OF COURSE BETTER THAN SOME BULLSHIT STUDY. IF YOU WANT TO TALK BIAS…LOOK AT ANY STUDY. BECAUSE SOMEONE ALWAYS PAYS FOR THEM YOU FUCKING TWATBAG.
DID TYPING THIS IN CAPS HELP YOU FUCKING COMPREHEND THE POINT?
PROBABLY NO BECAUSE YOU’RE SOME FUCKING FAGGOT ASSHOLE RETARD.
-
No, it just proved that you don’t care about finding accurate useful information, only what fits with your preexisting beliefs, and are prepared to reject any information that does not fit your beliefs because ‘somebody paid for it.’ No reason to throw a fit over your own intellectual failings.
And you don’t need to sweet talk me.
-
You know as well as I do that a single person’s account of a large problem/issue is nearly meaningless, especially if he’s not somehow involved w/ the issue. One bystander can’t be relied for info about what is going on.
I could make a lot of ‘true’ statements (by my perception) of rednecks in WV, but I really only know of a few dozen (at best) as personal experience.
-
@Nyokki
I can’t reply to yours cause the open source system here is limited.
But ya…you know full well and agree that a first hand account on something that can’t be quantified by any group of government body is far more reliable than an estimate or in this case the hopes of some limp wristed hippy with AIDS.
I’ll take your advice on rednecks over any news station.
@faggot
That doesn’t even make sense in the slightest. What did I pick his personal account from or instead of? Hmmm? No answer huh. You’re not even providing the bullshit stats on crime estimates in populations of illegals from Mexico. You’re just pure bullshitting.
Then you keep hoping your stupid fucking lame sense of humour will take. It just makes you look like a fucking idiot each time. Go ahead and write more like that if you want. You might as well be pissing in your own face though. I don’t know how to make this backfire any clearer to you.
Point to what info has been rejected. There ain’t any.
Other than you not liking his perspective based on his actual experience and you’ve probably never even been to AZ or TX. So you refute it in favour of the bullshit you make up?
There it is for reference: this faggot is a hopeless bullshitting loser like all hippy faggots with delusions of importance.
-
Awww, poor maggie has to agree with nyokki and throw a fit at me over the exact same point. One person’s personal account isn’t valid information.
You never asked for data, so I didn’t give any, but here is some for you to ignore and reject.
Illegal immigrant population in AZ has risen 3.5 fold. Violent and property crimes fell there.
But you know where crime rates haven’t fallen, but instead have risen? Maricopa county of AZ, where Sheriff Joe Arpaio is ignoring crime in favor of sweeps for illegals.
You like to rant about how I believe what I am told to believe, but here I am, pointing out that the illegal immigration = more crime meme is a fraudulent media driven scam.
I find it quite funny that you are so obsessed with me and all you have are homophobic rants, and just keep trying to tell me to shut up. You keep bitching about how nobody thinks I’m funny, but that doesn’t bother me. It bothers you not to get your way.
The easiest way to get me to quit being being the pitcher to your catcher, the giver to your receiver, the top to your bottom, is to just go away. Alas, I’ve realized I’m in a battle of wits with somebody who showed up unarmed, so I’m not surprised that you are don’t find my humor amusing. I’ll just pat you on the head and spank you on the ass.
Now go put on the chaps. I’m in the mood for leather tonight.
-
What about people born in the US and look latino? If you’re a natural born citizen and are just walking down the street, you’re not required to carry ID. They’ve already detained a Puerto Rican for a couple of days (not sure about length of time) while his wife was bringing in proof of citizenship.
-
MJ was born a little black boy. We have the technology. We can turn little black boys into full grown white women.
-
In order for there to be a winner there has to be a loser.
Americans need to decide if they want to be vilified and on top as they have been or noble and in poverty.
Note that you’ve been brainwashed pretty hard by hippy bullshit your whole lives so noble and in poverty actually sounds like a fucking option.
-
Why not be noble and on top? I know you like to be my bottom, so it might be hard to get this, but the winner/loser is a rather anticapitalist statement. A rising tide floats all boats, as long as people don’t go around drilling holes…
-
You’re a flaming retard who couldn’t wrap his head around something that makes sense as you clearly just proved.
I think your AIDS has spread to your brain.
Hey here’s a thinker for you, fairy: all those illegals think your faggot lifestyle means you deserve to die. Go ask them. Now come back and defend them.
Oops. Clashing liberal ideologies at its best. Let in all the immigrants…gay marriage gets voted down and crimes against homosexuals skyrocket. How does it feel to shoot yourself in the light little loafers?
And you think anyone in the overwhelming majority (straight white people) should listen to you at all?
The winner/loser scenario is reality, fucko. Not rainbow make believe where you can have one nation living below the standard of another and not resent them completely.
-
You always know how to sweettalk me Mags. Calling me a retard when your handle is such a clear flirt.
Latinos aren’t as big of homophobes as you are. And I happen to be a straight white person, despite this little game we play.
Your rant, yet again, has nothing to do with the history of America as a place that welcomes immigrants and thrives from their addition to our society. But I’m just somebody who knows at least as much about history as any college graduate.
-
Not too long but still didn’t read.
lol@u
That’s about all you’re worth in terms of a response. Try being clever or funny or something.
Or don’t I can’t force myself to care.
-
Hey, I’m not the one who made an argument from adverse consequences not knowing anything about the extent of homophobia in the Latino community. Its just not as extreme as you would like to believe. Now, it Saudi Arabia was the southern neighbor to the US, then your fantasy might have some standing.
Maybe you hadn’t noticed, but Mexico City allows gay marriage.
If you bothered checking these things out before you go off half cocked, you might not make these kinds of mistakes.
-
So go get married in Califorina.
Oh wait…the rural latin communities out voted the urban community and all the self important homos were shocked that surprisingly despite everyone they know being pro butt their marriage shit got canned.
Mexico City also allows heroin use you stupid fuck. Great example.
The only mistake I’ve made here is assuming you weren’t a complete retard.
As I’ve said before…fuck off. You just keep bitching like a cunt and making yourself look even more and more stupid with your never ending bullshitting.
-
Blacks and Latinos voted precisely the same way on prop 8, but that isn’t the important part.
Illegal immigrants can’t vote.
-
Once they’re legal do you think they’ll vote differently? Do you think legal residents from Mexico are vastly different than illegal ones?
And you think because you added in another minority group you’ve made a point?
You really are fucking stupid. I am right and you are a total retard.
Go ahead and bullshit some more if you want you fucking moron.
-
And once they are legal…
That takes about a decade if you are lucky, probably 15 years or so.
And yes, the illegal immigrants are different from legal immigrants. Legal immigrants tend to have skills and a college education and are more likely to be liberal. Naturalized citizens will probably be more conservative.
I’m not really concerned about how they will vote. All legal citizens get to vote, and I can hope that they vote a certain way, but I think that the chances of such things as gay and lesbian rights to marriage will probably take a couple decades to become common through the US, barring a SCOTUS decision in their favor.
Regardless, we are leaving neanderthals like yourself behind as society drifts toward more personal liberty instead of mindless hate for people for no reason other than the color of their skin or who they love.
-
The whole immigration bill fiasco aside, she’s a know-nothing idiot who doesn’t consider any of the consequences of her actions and lives in a neo-conservative bubble. She’s woefully unprepared and unable to tackle the serious problems Arizona is facing and shouldn’t be at an executive level at a Burger King franchise, let alone the governor of a state.
She wasn’t even elected, she was elevated from AZ Secretary of State to the position of Governor when Obama tapped Janet Napolitano for the DoHS job, cuz Arizona doesn’t have a Lt. Governor position. She’s up for election in November 2010 and will probably get MAYBE 2 or 3 Hispanics to vote for her in a state where Hispanics are 30% of the population… every time she opens her mouth, she shows just how truly uninformed and incapable she is.
-
Gimme a billion dollars and I’ll solve Arizona’s immigration problem. I dig a big ass trench along the border. Then I’ll use that dirt to build a wall around Arizona to keep the stupidity in the state. Hell, I’ll even throw in Texas for free.
-
If the Mexicans were all flocking into New York your media groups would have you thinking it was a problem.
Since it’s in the south it must be because they’re stupid? Stupid is denying its a problem.
-
Somebody hasn’t been to NYC lately…
-
There’s a lot of Haitians.
-
Ya…you.

@Nyokki
@faggot

-
-
In order for there to be a winner there has to be a loser.

This is cause in Arizona its legal to ask for proof of citizenship when detaining someone who fits the profile of an illegal immigrant right?
-
I should illegally immigrate to Arizona, and hang around police stations all day. They’ll never know!
-
Well, considering it’s been federal law that every non-citizen in the United States is required to carry their green card on them since Congress passed the Alien Registration Act in 1940, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smith_Act, and also considering that Arizona wrote in this new law that the contact has to be made after other laws have been broken, and also considering that Arizona anticipated legal challenges on a ‘racial profiling’ basis. They wrote in language aimed at avoiding this profiling charge altogether.
Read the law yourself, it’s only 17 pages… www.azleg.gov/legtext/49leg/2r/bills/sb1070s.pdf

Speaking as an immigrant in China, I have to say I love it when a first-world country does something less free than the people’s republic.
-
So you’re saying that China has immigration laws more lax than America ?? I find that hard to believe.
-
Bullshit.
China wouldn’t even allow foreign ownership of businesses until about 3 years ago AND you live in an area designated for non chinese. If you don’t you’ll be arrested.
So bullshit elsewhere you confused little wreck of a human being.
btw 3 downvotes for a question? lol
way to be transparent, faggots
-
Geez, all this noise about people wanting existing laws to be enforced. It’s not like Arizona made this up all by themselves. They used current, existing federal law to craft their own law.
None of this would even be necessary if the feds had only enforced their own laws, and all immigrants had respected those laws and abided by them.
-
Bullshit. They keep trying to make laws that are unenforceable and cannot work. They’ll never stop coming as long as their country is a festering shit-hole and Arizona isn’t…comparatively.
-
The keyword here isnt people, more like “white people”

Dude, way to try and pretend a complicated situation is simple. You’re no better than the morons who stand on street corners shouting, “what part of ‘illegal’ don’t you understand?!”
The problem with immigration is that every part of the American economy is predicated on having access to illegal immigrant workers. Every large corporation profits greatly from their presence. Every consumer goes to the grocery store and contributes their support towards a system that wants illegal immigrants in our workforce. Yet when people write laws to limit illegal immigration, the only way they do it is to try to make life more miserable for illegal immigrants. Do they make the corporations who employ them suffer? No. Do they make the citizens who bought their groceries knowing full well that their purchases supported illegal immigration pay some sort of fine? No. We as a nation want all of the benefits of illegal immigration, but want the immigrants to pay all of the consequences. Can you really be so stupid that you can’t understand that very simple disparity?
Besides, how can you not see the racial issue here. Yes, non-citizens are required to carry their green card on them, duh. Who are the non-citizens? If you, me, and our buddy Pedro are walking along and we jaywalk, a police officer can issue us a citation. Given that he doesn’t know ahead of time which of us are citizens and which of us are residents, who does he ask if they have their paperwork with them? You, whatever your race and creed are, me, or Pedro? I may be a redheaded Irishman here on a student visa, you are a Canadian national whose visa ran out years ago and you never bothered to renew it because no one ever asks to see it anymore, and Pedro is a fifth generation immigrant whose ethnically Mexican family was living in Texas before it became a state. Who is going to be asked to prove that they have the right to be here? Got any quick rejoinders that obfuscate that moral hazard in this deeply flawed legislation?
Stupid fucking racists trying to pretend they have the moral high ground!
-
I say leave the mexicans alone but keep profiling blacks
-
Say your scenario takes place. You know how it plays out? So the police officer decides to issue us a citation. As part of that, he’s going to ask for some ID. So you and I hand over our expired visas and get deported, while Pedro hands over his driver’s license, which is valid proof of residency. That’s what happens in 50 of 50 states.
The moronic aspect of this law has little to do with that, but more to do with the fact that the original phrasing of the law was “any legal contact”, which meant not only during any sort of stop for a crime, but if you were a witness to something, if someone complained about your dog, or possibly even if the cop walked up to you on public property. They’re trying to pass through a revision of the bill that would limit to to only when someone has been stopped for another crime, which is pretty much what the current status is anyway.
-
Unless Pedro left his house without his wallet.
-
Then they’ll take him down to the station, and do whatever they have to do to establish his identity. Same thing they’d do to anyone. It’s not like the law makes it so that anyone with any skin color darker than ivory that isn’t carrying a birth certificate and passport is going to be drugged and wake up 15 minutes later in Mexico.
-
For every irish and canadian there are thousands of illegal immigrants who look like pedro.
So he has to show his ID? Big fucking deal.
FYI in Canada the first thing an officer does is get your ID.
The stupid thing is you dumb fucks think counterfeit IDs are hard to come by?
-
he problem with immigration is that every part of the American economy is predicated on having access to illegal immigrant workers.
The restaurant, landscaping/farming, Construction and janitorial industries represent every part of the american economy? Or do you mean to tell me that Intel, Raytheon, Microsoft, American Express, State Farm and the HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of other privately owned and operated businesses (not just the major market players) completely rely on Illegal immigrants? www.transnationale.org/countries/usas.php Please read that website, and then please realize why what you just said sounds incredibly stupid.
-
What about the law forbidding people who talk with any sort of accent to not be able to teach English? That’s a pretty small portion of our population. The south and east coast are certainly fucked.
And what about not being able to teach about students heritage, equivocating it to hate speech?
And WHY BAN HUMAN ANIMAL HYBRIDS?! That shit’s retarded.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bracero_Program
The Bracero Program (from the Spanish word brazo, meaning “arm”) was a series of laws and diplomatic agreements, initiated by an August 1942 exchange of diplomatic notes between the United States and Mexico, for the importation of temporary contract laborers from Mexico to the United States. After the expiration of the initial agreement in 1947, the program was continued in agriculture under a variety of laws and administrative agreements until its formal end in 1964.
There is no sense in NOT enforcing current immigration law, in addition to the new Arizona law, which won’t take effect until in August sometime.
Current polls show approx 73% of Americans favor Arizona’s new law. Approx 12 states, or more, are considering their own immigration laws.
Go here to see another reason to enforce current immigration laws: republicbroadcasting.org/?p=8419 Warning: graphic content.

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO THINK THAT ARIZONA IS EXTREME, THIS IS WHAT IS GOING ON JUST ACROSS THE BORDER AND THOSE SAME SAVAGES ARE COMING ACROSS EVERY DAY
Could they not find dastardly enough deeds on this side of the border. That’s what the Mexicans are fleeing from. What can we do that would dissuade that? Nothing.
Also, regardless of the % of Americans support the new law, it’s wrong. Not everything is decided by majority opinion.
-
I don’t understand the dumbfucks who point at the violent drug gangs in Mexico and act like this bill is going to keep them out. “Well, shit, I was okay taking my assault rifles and drugs across the border into Arizona, but not if they’re going to check my immigration status if I get caught!”

gotta say she makes sense
though you haven’t lost your language. we print everything in french up here still but everyone speaks english. its just wasted money.
-
No, she doesn’t. She talks about the drug trade, the lack of security at the border, and the state’s budget problems. What is this bill going to do to stop the drug trade? Nothing, because those idiots are already breaking the law by, you know, bringing in illegal drugs. How is this going to secure the border? It isn’t, because instead of focusing on the border, this bill is focusing on people who are already in the country. Is this going to help the state budget? I doubt it- she admits the law doesn’t add anything, so why does she act like it’s going to make a huge difference?
“Maybe it’s too late to save America”? I’m glad someone bought her a “Catchphrases to Invoke the Right” page-a-day calendar.
-
She said there are reports of people walking across from Mexico who are armed right? You read that too?
Those people then stay and make use of your roads, social programs, and all other publicly funded programs and services without paying into the funds they all draw from.
Its focusing on the border by kicking people back across it and calling on the federal government to protect the national border.
You did read the whole thing right?
Either way you’ve been brainwashed severely. I’m not American and speaking from a third person perspective the idiocy of not seeing how expensive cheap labour is is incredible. You’ve never heard the expression ‘cheap labour is the most expensive thing in the world’? Odd because its a very old saying.
So you have people walking in armed with drugs and staying until the money is drained and then moving on and you think that’s okay?
The American media really has done a wonderful job of messing up its own people’s heads, turning the world against its own country, and in general bullshitting Americans and the world every chance they get.
I’ve read up your demonized Fox News boogie man and for every stupid story or fabrication I see on there I can show you 10000 leftist BS fake news reports that are infinitely more vile.
summary: you’ve been lied to and had misplaced guilt forced on you to the point that you’re now thinking its okay that you’re being robbed.
-
I am American, and actually live in Arizona, so I’m speaking from a first-person point of view. I know, it’s a crazy theory that someone might have their own thoughts. I’m sure the global media has brainwashed you severely into thinking that every American just watched Fox news all the time and worships at the altar of the Republican Party- hey, stupid over-generalization is fun, I see why you do it.
But here’s why her whole point, and yours by extension, is bullshit- she’s taking two very, very different categories of people, and pretending they act the exact same way. The people who are crossing the border while heavily armed? They’re not staying around. They’re bringing in drugs, selling them, and then going back to Mexico to repeat the process. The people who are coming in to be extremely cheap labor and drain our social systems? That’s who this bill is aimed at. The drug cartels don’t give a shit about this bill, so her first point is a complete waste of space.
As for her second point, if she’s going to complain about how the border patrol isn’t actually set up at the border, then why isn’t she pushing for a bill that would put more focus on the border? Her whole complaint is that the enforcement is set too far back from the actual entry point, and she’s using that as a reason to emphasize enforcement *further* back?
And her last point. She specifically says “nothing new has been added to this law.” So why is it going to make a difference at all? She’s spent the whole time arguing why we need border security, and then suddenly changes topics to say that’s why we need to enforce immigration standards. The same standards that she admits already exist. She’s arguing two completely different topics.
Summary: You’re wrong and you’re making huge guesses about what I think about this bill.

as an arizona legal citizen i must say we did it all for the lulz

I’d throw out a whitey if they were illegal. Fuck all illegals.

Standing on a street corner with a sign that says “what part of ‘illegal’ don’t you understand”?! I don’t stand on street corners with signs, although I do go to every Tea Party I can.

Read the law yourself, it’s only 17 pages… www.azleg.gov/legtext/49leg/2r/bills/sb1070s.pdf -
Speaking as an immigrant in China, I have to say I love it when a first-world country does something less free than the people’s republic.
-
So you’re saying that China has immigration laws more lax than America ?? I find that hard to believe.
-
Bullshit.
China wouldn’t even allow foreign ownership of businesses until about 3 years ago AND you live in an area designated for non chinese. If you don’t you’ll be arrested.
So bullshit elsewhere you confused little wreck of a human being.
btw 3 downvotes for a question? lol

Geez, all this noise about people wanting existing laws to be enforced. It’s not like Arizona made this up all by themselves. They used current, existing federal law to craft their own law.
None of this would even be necessary if the feds had only enforced their own laws, and all immigrants had respected those laws and abided by them.-
Bullshit. They keep trying to make laws that are unenforceable and cannot work. They’ll never stop coming as long as their country is a festering shit-hole and Arizona isn’t…comparatively.

-
-
-
For every irish and canadian there are thousands of illegal immigrants who look like pedro.

Approx 12 states, or more, are considering their own immigration laws.Go here to see another reason to enforce current immigration laws: republicbroadcasting.org/?p=8419 Warning: graphic content.

“Well, shit, I was okay taking my assault rifles and drugs across the border into Arizona, but not if they’re going to check my immigration status if I get caught!”

though you haven’t lost your language. we print everything in french up here still but everyone speaks english. its just wasted money.
-
No, she doesn’t.

In order to justify the cost, mining companies run them 24/7 with 3 shifts. The only time they get turned off is when they need repairs.

Where did this Big Car = Tiny Penis compensation thing come from? Somehow, I bet it was from someone who drove a small car. Just saying.
Also, It could also be for those who get shot at frequently, like anyone from east or south of Poland.

It’s been around for ages. Roughly since the 50s when bigger cars meant more lavish cars (with some exceptions, the MG was tiny but awesome). Basically any very public showing off of your supposed good fortune implies you really NEED everyone to see how awesome you are. This implies that your overcompensating or trying to hide something. It doesn’t really have to be a small penis, but that’s a good shorthand for whatever a guy might actually be overcompensating for (an addict, not as rich as he’d like to pretend, crappy job, father beet him as a child, hates his wife, or just possibly actually a small penis).

One fascinating feature of goliath bird-eaters, as well as some other tarantula species, is their ability to make noise. When feeling threatened, the goliath bird-eater is capable of making a pretty loud hissing noise by rubbing bristles on its legs together. Called stridulation, it can be loud enough to be heard up to 15 feet away!

Called stridulation, it can be loud enough to be heard up to 15 feet away!
-
zomg I love you almost as much as i love giant fuzzy spiders
-
-
I think I would prefer to hear the sound of an entire Mongol horde charging at me than one of these abominations stridulating between my bed sheets.
-
This kinda reminds me of the day when my Poecilotheria went awol.
Didn’t do much sleeping back then… -
I’ve wanted one of these beauties for a while. One day. One day.
-
That’s an amazing arachnid. I love how creeped out people get when they see a spider that can take down a mammal.
Is that species aggressive towards humans? Looks like a good pet to me.
-
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU this made me quiver as I was scrollin.
-
There are a lot of arachnophobes on this site. I have some pics I want to submit. Tiki, can we have a spider theme day?

Why is the spare wheel so sticky-outy?
-
yeah, I can see that getting shot off on a regular basis.

LUKE1-5 & MyConfinedCanuck.
In war, (American) you do not change a tire. Spares are for changing on base. Army combat vehicles do not even carry a spare (Stryker, MRAP). You drive it back (run flats, automatic re-inflation), or you destroy it on scene. So the tire being there are more for extra armor (my point of view) or peacetime uses.
In low conflict areas (such as Iraq today) you may wait for a civilian contractor to come tow your sorry ass back. EOD snapped an axel on one of their MRAPS because MRAPS suck. WE offered to tow them back, and they weren’t allowed to get towed in because the MRAP was under warranty. The extra damage from towing (improperly) would have voided the warranty. So we went back to base, and they waited out in sector for the civilians.
-
Just one question. Does it come in black?
-
Ditto.
-
The US Marines are using the MATV now. It looks super badass.
-
Don’t see it having a lot more armor than mil. grade hummers. Who’s the target market?
-
Way Way more armor then a Hummer. Also sits higher (distance is armor). Doesn’t look like a lot higher in the front, but in the passenger compartment, the step is about where the floor of the Humvee is, and the floor clearly sits higher.
Also looks like the engine compartment is at least covered w/ metal, and perhaps armor. A HUMVEE is still fiberglass there, so it take nothing to make you totally immobile.
-
Where do the IED’s go?
-
Apparently they take a pretty good hit. They get totally demolished and it costs over a million to make, but the cabin holds up pretty good. They were talking to some officer that got hit on a patrol by a 70 pound mine in Afghanistan and after the instant shock he saw the other guys laughing and fist bumping.

The actual story
-
Oh, and I NEED one of these. For, like, the zombie apocalypse.
-
Well that’s not new. Some South African firm has been marketing something that can take an IED or mine and still be functional, not just keep the passengers alive.
-
Forget getting carjacked!
-
in case of zombies, aliens, or the second coming of jesus…..
-
Is this the new hummer?
cause like the original humvee, I’m liking the design. would love to try it out in the urban environment
-
There’s a civilian version, but it ain’t cheap:
conquestvehicles.com/knight-xv.html
-
well shit, if there’s only 100 of them being made…
-
The Knight XV is a mod by a different company… not sure if the Gurkha itself comes in a civilian version.
-
Whoa it has BLUE UNDERGLOW? Totally unexpected.
-
DO WANT!
-
why one would want to drive a fucking military grade vehicle for everyday purposes? oh yeah, unless he/she’s a fucktard
-
Hey, bet the folks living in Juarez wish they had military grade vehicles for everyday purposes.
on a more serious note: It’s H.A.R.V.!
-
Then a ftard am I, and proud of it.

Has to be black though…

Yeah, whenever they ask “do you know how fast you were going?” never answer because they don’t know either.
Derp on my part.

*Spoken in a Daniel Plainsview voice*
“Your Honour, we gather today for the reason that i am alleged to have travelled at a speed greater than considered safe at the #time of #date; and while in this magnificent country of ours we are innocent until proven guilty, the burden of proof also lies on the appellant party; but with all due respect; i do wish to contest the officier’s judgment on that day”
“I do hold firmly in my belief that, i had not travelled beyond the speed limit. i had no genuine cause to exceed #speedlimit per hour, I was not intoxicated and I did not use a cellular phone, there exists no factors that would hinder; my own judgment of speed.”
“We are completely without the ability to judge speed precisely ourselves; while it is in human nature to err; it is noted that the instruments which we use are prone to inaccuracies at well. Take any scientific university research; and “mechanical inaccuracy” are always accounted for”
“If it may please the court, i wish to cite these statistics obtained from #crediblesource. As it is shown, a varying fluctuance of 10~20% while stationary, and a hefty 30% margin of error in a moving vehicle. Evening if I was travelling at the #speedlimit of 50km/h 25mph/, this could show up anywhere between 5km/2.5miles over the speed limit.
Taking in account of a slight tremble or a nearby speeding car, the stationary tests could be just as inaccurate.”
“I realize that; as courts must prove beyond a reasonable doubt; both for the act that i am putting myself and other drivers in danger by going over the speed limit considered safe (actus reus); as well that i had an intention to do so and a reason to do so (mens rea); while this will not convict me of a felony; i seek to re-examine the validity the issuing of this ticket”
“I rest my case”
And i think i just summed up some what 8000 webpages out there on how-to-dodge-speed-tickets

that looks like a pretty nice walmart
-
Pretty nice cards for walmarts standard.
Also, that car isn’t a rolls royce. It’s one of those 300m’s from Chrysler or something.
-
That one actually is a Rolls. The 300 has different shaped headlights and more curve where the hood meets the grill.
Another Rolls in an unlikely place: photos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs212.snc1/7931_631857730009_12804418_36402589_923695_n.jpg

looks like a quilt

Fascinating. We are throwing out 20-year old state of the art aircraft, and third world countries are finally advancing beyond prop jobs.
-
A lot of that has to do with the massive cost of maintenance (which can exceed the vehicles production cost EVERY YEAR). We don’t sell them to anyone anymore because that has bitten us in the butt a number of times (see also: Iran’s airforce), so once we are done using them in combat and/or training, they end up here.
As for the third world just catching up with our 50 year old tech–have you seen what proportion of our economy is spent on defense as opposed to the nearest competitor? There is a reason why no one else forks over enough to have what we take for granted.
-
How hard would it be to steal something?
-
Pretty hard. You’d need some super-baggy pants to slip a jet out of there.
-
Reminds me of GTA San Andreas
-
I have an image of B-52`s lined up at AMARC on my wall. There`s something really forlorn about it.
-
If you’re into planes, you can spend hours looking at this place in Google Earth. It’s really fun (sad) picking out individual plane types.
-
Isn’t this just across the way from Pima Air Museum? Pretty sure we drove past this when I was in Tucson.
-
Some enterprising prankster should re-park all of them to spell out “AREA 51 THIS WAY —>”

This is my new favourite cartoonist, the little roof cat with the green legs is so delightful it makes me want to jump out of the window while yelling funny sounding obscenities in Norwegian.
