Actually the main story of Planetes is about space debris retrieval. And how that one screw orbiting the earth at who knows how fast can fuck up a space ship unlucky enough to get in its way. They put a lot of effort into making it pretty plausible. Only space travel is around the Earth and to the Moon Colonies in the anime.

Yes I have had my 2 Cali kings for near 5 years - and it’s funny because my female just tried this the other day - then I see this picture. She didn’t actually swallow her tail yet but was wrestling with it like it was food. Probably because the kings will so readily eat other snakes.
