I’ve seen this movie twice, both in IMAX theaters (one baby imax and one Official IMAX) and boy howdy is this movie a blast to watch. There’s a few moments that scream out “hey guys, this is a Star Wars movie, remember this other guy from that other Star Wars movie? Here he is in this movie! Look, he’s right here! See him? Right There!”, but luckily it’s only a few moments, the rest of the movie is pure new content with a delightfully dark story that builds to a third act unlike any other that we’ve seen in a Star Wars film and delivers the best 60 final seconds I’ve seen in a film.
If you can watch this in theaters, I highly suggest it, I thoroughly enjoyed the experiences.
I thought it was great although I did do a proverbial eye roll for the Jimmy Smits “See him? Right There!” moment when they amped up the music as a heavy handed queue.
Peter Cushing killed it.
I didn’t notice it for Jimmy Smits, for the most part he seemed like he belonged with the other Rebel leaders.
