As a lifelong Ghostbusters fan, I have to say that this remake was highly disappointing. The director is a one-trick pony, only capable of making watered-down genderbent remakes of other people’s movies. Always with Melissa McCarthy. I swear, she’s got a picture of him fucking a goat stashed away someone.

Anyhoo, the writing was weak, the villain was clearly intended to represent the 0.08% (yes, the number really is that low, people with legit complaints were silenced) of naysayers who were sexist shitwaffles, the cast had no chemistry, the jokes were so bad that they might as well have had a laugh track telling the idiots when they’re supposed to laugh, the “new” version of the theme was done by a band who is ten years out of date (way to keep up with trends, Feig!), there isn’t a single male character who is portrayed in a positive light, the lesbian character sets back LGBT struggles by failing the “friends, not food” test in a downright predatory way, the new Ecto-1 looks like shit, the new packs look like camping stoves, the entire “GBs are frauds” angle is EXACTLY what people hated about the beginning of GB2 (actually, this movie makes a lot of mistakes that have ALREADY BEEN MADE in the Ghostbusters franchise), coercing Bill Murray into being in it has soured him on ever doing a proper sequel forever…

With any luck, this will be the final nail in the coffin of Feig’s career.
