Ahem, let me break this down for you.

He straw mans and mocks every legitimate criticism leveled against him, so in a sense he is partially responsible for the angry tone in politics because people from both parties feel disenfranchised. Case in point, the occupy wall street movement and the rise of Bernie Sanders are liberal movements aimed at the status quo that Obama and Hilary benefit from. But no, no, let’s call the occupy wall streeters occupoo! Tea partiers are tea baggers! Supporters of Bernie Sanders are Bernie Bros! If you criticize Obama or Hillary, you are racist or misogynist!

The truth is, this kind of debating without engaging the concerns of the people breaks down political discourse and will prevent either side from talking and truly making things better.

So no, while Obama is not directly responsible for Trump, he and his ilk have been pissing off a large number of people who are now more willing to go to extreme measures to be heard. This is how extremism works and I wish Obama understood that or was at least willing to hear what his critics had to say for the last 7 years. It certainly would have defused things or at least let others be heard. Heck, it might have even made him a better President, because I can guarantee you that implementing ideas (even from political enemies) can successfully work. In other words, implementing ideas from only 1 political party would be bad news for everybody, no matter which party that is!

Obama really does need a crowbar to pry his head from his ass. Not everyone is out to get him, people just want to be fairly represented and not maligned.
