    1. You’re complaining about adaptations now? Where were you when Christopher Nolan turned “The world’s greatest detective” into The Punisher’s dumbest brother with a voice that sounded like Scooby Doo with laryngitis?

      Anyway, vampires have always been the “gentlemen” monsters. And by gentlemen I mean they were intended for women to find attractive (seductive, classy, mysterious strangers, usually with a foreign accent, always dressing in expensive suits, always rich and powerful). Every single trope relating vampires is an archetype that women supposedly love.

      Frankenstein’s monster is a monster for guys (misunderstood, forced to be monster, unattractive to women, unable to get laid, etc). Vampires have always been monsters for girls.
