    Neither would I, but perhaps if Dawn Hochsprung or Anne Marie Murphy or Mary Sherlach or Lauren Rousseau or Rachel Davino or Victoria Soto or any combination of those People been Armed with anything other than their Bare Hands, there wouldn’t have been ANY Kids dead that day. You don’t recognize those Names? They are the Principal and Staff who also died that day. Why is it that you constantly heard the Name of the Gunman, but you have to look hard to get the Name of the Victims?

    Plenty of people who are actually trained in using firearms couldn’t handle them if it came to that. There are security people, cops, hell – probably even some soldiers – who, when the pressure is on and lives depend on it, can’t properly do what needs to be done and may even end up harming innocent bystanders. Scared civilians with guns doesn’t really seem like the answer. Just my (unasked for, ignorant) opinion.

    God-damn great opinion.
    I am a trained decorated Marine vet marksman. I only tell you that because 9 out of 10 times that you aim a firearm at someone cold – you hesitate and never even fire it.

    I don’t fucking care how many stats you give me, I know what I’ve experienced and seen with my own eyes in the field. If we think that Joe Citizen is going to pick up his gun and shoot Joe Intruder taking the sacred Sony because he spent 40 hours on the shooting range – you are not in touch with reality.

    Far underpaid, over worked and under staffed Dawn Hochsprung, Anne Marie Murphy, Mary Sherlach, Lauren Rousseau, Rachel Davino or Victoria Soto were too busy dealing with little Johnny or Susie learning the ABCs all day long to be trained enough to go down the hallway and blow some intruder away. Get fucking real.

    It’s a measure of how sick America is that people think that telling teachers and school staff that they have no choice but to carry arms and learn to shoot them is an appropriate response to mass killings of schoolchildren.

    I agree with this post, the media should cover all types of gun violence not just the spectacular stuff.

    If people knew how bad it was we’d have better regulations

    When I was living in China, there was a big media scare because some guy went into a pre-school with a knife and started stabbing little kids. Then, a short time later, there was a copycat incident. Likewise, when I was in Alberta, many years ago, there was a school shooting in spite of Canada’s strict gun control laws.

    I’m not big on the idea of people carrying around handguns, but I think that in these cases, it’s less of a gun issue and more of a crazy fuck issue.

    Take the guns, then they’ll use knives, bombs, or molotov cocktails. The thing is the target. They want an “easy” target. Someone or something that isn’t going to fight back. Sandy Hook was “gun free” and that’s why that psycho targeted it. He didn’t hit an ROTC barracks, police station, firing range, sporting goods store, etc. because there would have been resistance.

    The pali-thugs developed an affection for shooting up soft-target Israeli school kids. Then the teachers were told to arm themselves at school. There were some shootups where the pali-thugs finished a distant second. Oddly they no longer bother with Israeli schools. As for “trained and decorated” can’t… so then you can’t either blah blah – the facts say otherwise. Nevermind that “gen kill” (current gen) soldiers have shocked observers with their willingness if not outright enthusiasm in ‘lighting up’ their enemies, there has been a huge number of CCW civilians who have used their weapons to stop crimes. Since none of that supports “The Narrative” the MSM has done a splendid job of ignoring it and ignoring the startling toll of slaughtered innocents by cops.
