“The Necronomicon is a fictional grimoire appearing in the stories by horror writer H. P. Lovecraft and his followers. It was first mentioned in Lovecraft’s 1924 short story “The Hound”, written in 1922, though its purported author, the “Mad Arab” Abdul Alhazred, had been quoted a year earlier in Lovecraft’s “The Nameless City”. Among other things, the work contains an account of the Old Ones, their history, and the means for summoning them.” – wikipedia
I know that. Back in the days I read part of it (the occult one, with all them “funky” symbols), years later Call of Cthulhu too, not to mention watching Evil Dead. What I meant is, why the fuck there’s a Baphomet there ? IIRC that’s two different myths.
P.S.
If OP is just another incarnation of NK, just disregard my questions.
Yea, one is completely made up, a work of pure fiction, just a story while the other one, oh actually Lovecraft’s is made up too!

This is profoundly incorrect. Lovecraft’s cosmology did not have anything to do with “Satan” or “Lucifer” or any other thing to do with a Christian theme. This is an artifact of a humongous misunderstanding, brought upon by August Derleth, who’s Catholic background led him to cast Lovecraft’s work into a basic Judeo-Christian, good vs evil scheme. Blasphemy! In Lovecraft’s universe there was no such thing as the petty squabbles of Jehovah and Beelzebub. This wretched depiction of the Necronomicon is therefore completely wrong.
Yep, what he just said!
In the Lovecraft Mythos, there’s is no God, we are alone in a vast cold empty (ok not quite empty) uncaring universe, there is no one looking out for us or caring about us and that is the horror!
Well, that and the big squishy terrifying tentacled alien god like things from the next dimension who view us as nothing more than a light and tasty snack and as a pastime, would like to do unmentionable things to us just for their own amusement.
Yet another imaginary god.

I know that for some all evil = Devil\Satan\etc., but isn’t Necronomicon some other type of evil ?
mid-evil.
Yeah, it’s from HP Lovecraft’s books.
