…and when it was accidentally switched on by a feckless technician who, sitting on his work cart and tethered to the mechanism via a diagnostic umbilical cable, was pulled along helplessly as the engine tore loose from the chassis, plunged through the wall and shot across the desert landscape…on that day, a podracer was born.
