No one claimed vampires were weak against holy symbols until the Catholic Church invaded areas involving local vampire traditions and nerfed the hell out of the vamps to make christianity seem like a great idea.

That would be vampire folklore. You know, that whole mythology thing that’s pretty prevalent all over the world, or so I hear. If you ever read a book on the subject or even took a few seconds to hit wikipedia, you’d see that the coming of Christianity did reinterpret traditional vampire beliefs.
But, I guess not everyone can be bothered with “facts” or “relevancy”.
