well this is exciting and all, but what exactly are they going to be doing up there?

This looks awful.
You know what a spaceport will probably look like?
Like an airport with space craft.

The company that’s going to be flying spacecraft out of it is Virgin Galactic. They’re catering to a private/public market. Public market consisting of rich people who want to go into space. But to be honest, I put more faith in this approach than the government and NASA anymore for making normal space travel a reality. The people paying for trips into space as civilians will probably end up willingly contributing way more money than taxes ever did to NASA.
