  1. You could rename it “population density in the US and it would be just about as accurate – more people, more of any communicable disease.

    • This is cases per 100,000 people. I wouldn’t have thought population density would affect that by a great deal. Though I guess there could be more STIs if you don’t need to travel as far to get laid …

  3. I call bullshit. We’d hear a lot more about AIDS if it was that bad. And WHOLE STATES without data??
I don’t see anything on the chart about who made it or the sources of their data.

      • Thanks for the link. Aidsvu.org states the data (not the map) is from the CDC. According to the CDC, there are 1.2 million cases in the USA. 1 in 5 of them don’t know they have it. Setting aside how the CDC knows someone has AIDS when the person in question doesn’t. 1.2 million is about a 1/3 of a percent the USA’s overall population of 308 million. So why does the map look like we’re at a much higher percentage?
Another thing about the map that bothers me is Michigan. Did that state mutate? I know it doesn’t look like that, and based on the placement of the colors, the Great Lakes have AIDS case reported? Who’s fucking the fish and giving them AIDS?
        Here’s a link to the CDC’s info:
