The yellow price tag suggests it’s Best Buy. And while you’re buying your $315.99 2GB MicroSD card, be sure to pick up a nice HDMI cable too.

The comments on that HDMI link are amazing

You are Australian and clearly do not recognize it’s Best Buy.

The B&N ebook gift card right beside it hints more at it being B&N than a yellow sticker suggesting BB

The nook is a B&N product hence the gift card sold right next to it. Those are in fact best buy tags. The tag looks like a misprint though. If this isn’t a mistake its ridiculously overpriced.

The Best Buy here sells Nooks, Kindles and other ereaders, and the gift cards associated with their online stores.

Sorry –no rest for the dead wrong.

It’s a memory card for NOOK ( www.barnesandnoble.com/p/nook-simple-touch-barnes-noble/1102344735 ), and it only costs $9.95 ( www.barnesandnoble.com/p/sandisk-2gb-microsd-card/18296894?ean=619659026769&itm=1&usri=nook+memory+card ).
I don’t know if the price is a typo or if it relates to the sign that reads “Buy any NOOK and get 30 FREE eBooks to start your NOOK library — a $315 value!” on the package. Probably the latter.
And yes, it’s from Barnes&Noble, in case you missed the address in the links.

Now that we know how the mistake was most likely made(the store employee not reading they the text on the package), something else that is funny, the package says a value of $315 but they will sell it for 315.99.

It’s from Best Buy. As evidence, I present a photo I took independently from a Best Buy in Reston, Virginia. For those who don’t want to click through, I actually had the Best Buy staff run a price check on it. The computer agreed. A 2GB SD card for $315.99. It’s not a misprint.

It is a Barnes and Noble. Look right next to the overpriced SSD card. “BN ebook gift card”
January 6, 2012 at 1:19 am
Best Buy sells those too. And Amazon Kindle gift cards.
Go take a walk down to your local Best Buy. You’ll see them.

I work at Best Buy.
It’s ours. The tag is correct. It’s a promo item that is free with the purchase of a Nook Color, it discounts to $0.00 in the transaction.
January 8, 2012 at 2:44 am
That is a really bad way do handle that promotion.
