I play with guns, knives, historically accurate Japanese weapons and hand to hand.

Most Karate sucks anyway. There are a million guys who punch the air in strip mall dojos who don’t have a clue how to fight.
Of course, there’s the occasional karate guy whos’s a hard core badass. Such a person gets excited at the sight of blood and bare knuckle fights full contact. But those guys seem to be the minority.
I know. Video or it doesn’t happen, so here you go:

Ignore the shitty music and skip to 1 minute to see the fights.

If it’s 1 on 1, then BJJ.
Otherwise Muy Thai and Krav Maga are your bets bets.
Traditional Asian martial arts do not work IRL. It doesn’t matter how much you train. People watching too many movies these days.

Judo is a traditional Asian art. It works just fine if trained properly, thank you.
Muay Thai is a traditional Asian art. It works just fine if trained properly, thank you.
Karate is a traditional Asian art. It works just fine if trained properly, thank you.
I could go on, but the point is it’s not about WHAT you train, it’s HOW you train.
I can find 100′s of videos of traditional Asian arts working against fully resisting opponents.
