This just doesn’t hold for Americans. There are troll-like creatures from every nation on the internet. A few visit this site. It’s easy to talk tough when no one can see you, harder when they can kick your ass for saying what you say.

What’s amazing to me is that people will do this crap using their own names – and even pictures. The immediacy of the internet and the lack of shame in our modern society (anything goes is our modern mantra) has numbed people to this crap. I imagine upon reflection more than a few of them wish they had not done it – assuming any of their followers in this case call them on it. But that may be wishful thinking. Most people these days just double-down on their stupidity.

As an aside, try substituting some other cultures and religions (Christianity for example; Conservatives maybe? Or liberals?) into these tweets and see if it bothers you as much? If it doesn’t, well, then you might want to think about how you might look to others.
