Stop screaming and let me try to explain:
1. It’s a film. It depicts events not necessarily real or even feasible.
2. In the “film”, there’s a machine that can arbitrarily convert objects said to be real (although, as we know, belonging to a film, their reality is arguable at best) into virtual objects and back, provided the objects can find the adequate spot to be converted.

He probably is one of those guys who go to the comics conventions to ask Patrick Stewart or William Shatner “uh, yes, in episode number 1349 of TNG the warp engine was pushed to 120% for twenty minutes, but in episode 54 of TOS they stated very clearly that the engine could resist to that overload only for 19 minutes. You know, one thing does not preclude the other. My guess is it’s an irregularly styled wig. I’m all for creative liberty, but this just looks DERP.
