I think you’ll find that’s just swamp gas from a weather balloon that was trapped in a thermal pocket and reflected the light from Venus.

Fucking freaky those things – was so gobsmacked first time I saw one. Would love to see it at an airshow (well… flying basically..)

A friend of mine from high school builds those. He sent me every piece of B2 swag he could get his hands on- t-shirts, hats, patches, and even two different coffee cups. I THINK he was telling me in a round-a-bout way that he worked on it at a Top Secret level.

My mom worked in the developmental office of the B-2 Stealth Bomber. I was able to go to the unveiling when it was made public when I was a kid. Apart from the moment when it rolled out of the hanger the whole thing was very boring. Just a lot of speeches from guys in Air Force uniforms, then again I was 8 or 9. These things cost 1.5 to 2 Billion dollars a piece I think.
