I set up a Presidential lectern during the Clinton administration. A Secret Service Agent stood behind me and watched my every move. I wasn’t allowed to touch the grey finish for some reason. It was VERY sturdy- he said it had kevlar and armor plating in it. And he would not let me have my photo taken behind it impersonating Nixon. Damn it.

Teleprompter screens. Beneath them are two monitors, and the image is reflected into the glass so the speaker can read it- and nobody else. There is a person sitting at a table backstage making the speech move along with how he speaks. It’s very common and is used in all large meetings where speeches are made.

I seriously hope this is a shop. I know that Obama has a history of making “gaffs” while not on a teleprompter, but for a Pre-K class? Seriously? You need a teleprompter for that? My only thought of possible justification for this is that there is a line of media people on the other side of Obama and he is using the backdrop of a pre-k class to talk about one of his projects like healthcare or pumping more money into our school system.
Don’t get me wrong, I think the guy is a muslim ass-clown and I hope he gets his ass voted out, but I hope that our current sitting president does not require teleprompters to speak to a pre-k class without some kind of a major media coverage event.
