I’D RATHER WEAR FUR THAN BE OBJECTIFIED BY PETA

Gotta love how PETA sexually exploits women in their ads by having them pose naked or in lingerie, using porn stars and alluding to the fact that vegetarian women masturbate with vegetables. Maybe they should try to promote wearing cotton rather than the degradation of women by displaying them as sexual objects.

    1. Sexual Exploitation? More like Sexual Freedom. These women made the choice to do the ads. They were not forced to do it. In fact, I bet you a group of women came up with the idea for the ads. Throughout human history, sex sells. If you want to get attention for something, why not go that route?

    2. Those women did not come up with the idea to pose nude, it was PETA’s and chances are the reason they did pose nude was because they want to latch onto the last minutes of fame they had and show everyone that they still ‘sexy’ instead of withered old hags (i.e. Pam Anderson). Seeing a naked person or someone about to masturbate with a cucumber doesn’t make me want to stop wearing fur or eating meat. Seeing skinned animals or the poor living conditions they’re held in before they’re killed would make me not want to do those things. To me, the majority of their adds have nothing to do with the message their trying to give and ‘sexual freedom’ does not make me think of animal cruelty. What they should do is focus their adds on educating the viewer about alternative fabrics and foods they could wear and eat. PETA is also very much one sided since they hardly use naked men in their adds and they are too aggressive since they think that throwing paint on people wearing fur is ok and justified.

    3. PETA is just plain crazy. They want to halt animal testing, which basically means ALL medical science and research grinding to a complete and utter stop.

      Fuck that shit.

And they kill your pets if you donate your pets to them (because they don’t believe in pets either).

    7. Penn and Teller did a great episode of Bullshit about PETA. It’s a worthwhile watch if you get the chance.

      • ‘desighed to do’? Lol. We have the intestinal tracts of herbivores. We have long intestines due to vegetables taking a long time to break down. Meat (especially cooked red meat, because you call yourself a carnivore yet can’t eat it raw) breaks down a lot faster and is (basically) inside you too long, leading to things like colon cancer.
The meat industry is a big one, you guys bring in a lot of money, and about 27 million dead animal carcasses each day in the US alone. These guys would lose a lot of money and a lot of people would be out of jobs if people stopped eating meat. Also so many animals being born and bred to be food is responsible for about 40% of all carbon emissions. But they won’t tell you that, they’d rather tax you for driving a car, because that makes more money and doesn’t kill an industry.
So why would they ever tell you it was bad for you? With the right money and persuadable research scientists for hire, you can spin anything to sound good for you. Look how long it took people to realise smoking was harmful, lol.
Now I’m not one to ignore history, we have eaten meat for thousands of years, however used to kill our own, eat the meat as a large family/tribe (because you couldn’t store meat, could you?), then use the skin, furs and organs to create clothing and storage. So meat maybe, once a month we’d eat meat. We weren’t big hunters, look at our size. More scavengers of fruit and vegetables.
We’ve started getting bigger due to the change in our diets. We’ve evolved bigger in size in the last century, and this isn’t really a good thing. We don’t have the busy lifestyle to combat our excessive consumption, hence the obesity problem, and not to mention heinous over-population creating even more demand.
People get so defensive in trying to justify it because they don’t want to admit they’re just a fat cunt and like to eat it. Nothing is ever ‘good’ for you because by curing something you ruin another industry. If we all got healthy, massive pharmaceutical companies would lose money, doctors and nurses would be out of jobs, people make money off you, that’s all you are. A pawn in your big scary economy.
So sit down, get a pat on the head for being a part of the majority, and play your part like a good citizen.
        Rarrrgh, Peta are bad, etc!

        • I doubt that any adult who ate nothing but meat would be incredibly fat. I also know that veggies can be very overweight. Frankly I don’t worry about it too much. People eat what pleases them. Some eat too much, others desperately try to eat nothing. What they eat doesn’t really factor in (barring allergies or the need to either have or avoid specific types of food).

In general, PeTA really annoys me. That kind of single-mindedness shows a real lack of understanding.
