I find it odd that his laptop survived unscathed, and that he appears to be more disturbed by whatever is on his screen than by the fact that he just crashed through a good three feet of fucking concrete with no apparent injury.

The fact that it’s staged/a painting means his expression makes even less sense. If you had complete control of the scene, why would you say, “OK, now the most surprising thing in this whole scenario is whatever is on your miraculously untouched laptop. Go!”
Damn painters and their having better drugs than me…
