Celebration is not the right word.
The fall at the Alamo inspired other Texans to join the fight, remembering who fell there as they brought the fight to the Mexican army and finished the Texan revolution a month later.
It is the same sort of spark that happened (albeit on a greatly different scale, and nowhere near an exact parallel) when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor.
