She took it off because of guilt, which I’m sure you already know.
I don’t think the scrogging would have occurred if she didn’t take it off… since he was the Sheriffs best friend and all.

Hey now. She thought her husband was dead. Her kid needs some sort of father figure, and she needs someone to protect her. Plus fucking is fun and relieves stress. And it doesn’t help that Shane is a ladies man.
And I think in the comic they only fucked around once and she blue balled him.
And I think they should’ve gotten a hotter actress.

Don’t even worry about it. Only the first episode was supposed to follow the comic. The series is supposed to be changed up so the comic readers don’t get bored with it.

Exactly, as far as Lori knows, her husband and the father of her child is either dead or a zombie at this point. Shane is something she can hold on to as both a link to her past, to her lost husband, and he is also the only “friend” she has from back when things were normal. At this point Shane and Carl are the only tiny bits of stability she has in the middle of all the insanity. Shane is just happens to be a huge world class mega-douchebag.
As for the actress, I think she fits the role well enough, and she is in no way ugly IMHO. I would have preferred her hair a little bit darker. But I think she is fitting into the character nicely.

Having read the comics (all issues currently available) and being a huge fan of them, as well as the show, I’ll try to comment here without giving spoilers.
I think they took her a bit of a different direction, or else her motivations aren’t coming across as clearly on the show. But in the comics I got the strong impression that she latched on to Shane thinking her husband was dead, Shane being her husband’s partner in law enforcement and her knowing him and trusting him. Her son needs a father figure and in a world like that any woman can only benefit from a strong man who has training in life or death situations. In the comics I got the strong impression she was reluctant and they had only slept together once or twice and she was stringing it along as far apart as possible. She is being prudent and realistically with her husband having been in a coma in the hospital there is no way he should have survived, unguarded alone unconscious he should have been zombie food. She was right to assume him dead and move on as best as she could in a crazy world. She is not a whore, she is smart.

true image, at least that’s what I thought, as far as she knows her husband might be dead, but nevertheless, you can’t keep it in your pants for three weeks after your husband is dead, really?
