    I love that so many states in the US have such straight borders. That’s what states would look like everywhere if I got to decide. Squares and triangles.

    Well, thanks to things like French Long-Lots and Spanish Land Grants, not everything west of the 13 original colonies (aside from Texas) complies with the PLSS.

    I can scarcely imagine what the west would loot like if they applied their long-lot system beyond Illinois… Probably a lot like Quebec.

    There is some particular weirdness along the 5th Principle Meridian where the PLSS (Township and Range) system was warped thanks to a local magnetic anomaly. Imagine a Section 2 mile long, and shaped like parallelogram.

    I haven’t seen most of those films.

    But I have to say, Deliverance and Southern Comfort are both awesome films. And to think, the guy that did Southern Comfort also directed 48 Hours and The Warriors.

    Geography fail. Fargo was in North Dakota, not Minnesota.

    Why does N. Dakota and Missouri have the same movie? I’ve never seen “Jesus Camp” (never even heard of it). I think “The Outlaw Josey Whales” would have been better for Missouri.

    Waynes World took place in Illinois.
    On a related note, I feel Ferris Buehler’s Day Off would have been a better representation for Illiois as well.

    I agree that both were Illinois films, but Blues Brothers is a much better movie.

    The Vermont of Super Troopers is as much like the real Vermont as the Illinois of Blues Brothers is to the real Illinois.

    i think the movies should refer to its location a little more, Fight Club doesn’t feel very ‘delaware’

    In the sense Wall Street could be for NY, and Ocean’s Eleven would fit nevada a little more
