George used to be the master at making tangible sci fi props, aliens, and scenery.
Now he’s been corrupted by CGI.

George’s best movies were the ones where he just wrote and produced, but did not direct. The camera work alone in “The Empire Strikes Back” (directed by Irvin Kershner) was Oscar worthy.

Movies tend to have more sentimental value when CGI is limited. When actual craftsmen are involved in making huge elaborate sets and props, it just means more to the audience than CGI.
