Henri Cartier-Bresson! I saw his exhibit at the MoMA, and this photo was absolutely my favorite. The idea that someone created this – planned it, and everything. And then he came along, took a photograph, and it’s still admired by people today. I love it.

I’m assuming these were planted by workers hired by the Works Progress Administration during the new deal. Dust-bowl abatement.

This might be earlier than WW2. Also, pretty sure it’s in France.
Almost positive the photo is named ‘Untitled’, so it’s tough to Google details.
