I’m not sure what they’re trying to sell. Why would you want a magazine that takes up more room? No way in hell I’d buy these. Am I missing something?

I think the point OP was trying to make is DPMS LR use .308 and AR15 use .223. .308 is a much bigger round, and rarely seem magazine capacity much more than 10ish. This guy have custom made magazines for 40rd extra high capacity and relatively the same size with AR mags.

That does seem a bit much. Don’t they make drum mags with that capacity so you are not dragging your weapon on the ground?

Yea, these mags are mostly absurdities for the sake of “can I build it”. There are Beta C mags for the M14 that are a 100 round double drum magazine (one drum on each side of the weapon feeding into the same magazine well).

uhhh no, these are Magazines. Clips are thin metal strips that only hold onto the cartridge via the Rim. Clips are used to feed integrated magazines, usually seen on older battle rifles. A Magazine is enclosed on all sides except for the extracting facing, usually the top.

There are clips for loading 5.56mm for the AR/M4/M16 mags. They hold 10 rounds, and aren’t the easiest thing to use, but they do work.

common mistake, people think magazines are called clips, except its the other way around, the box that holds the ammo is the magazine..

The .308 was what Eugene Stoner originally envisioned the Army purchasing. Old promo videos show it being used as the MG that the round is currently used for on a bipod mounted AR-10 (the market name for 7.52×51 chambering.

Having personally carried 1000 rounds of extra M240 ammo when my AG went down in training, I am very happy the military opted for the 5.56 chambered AR-15 to be adopted as the M16. Those rounds are fucking heavy.
