Was also wondering if 20% would be too dark to put in the front window of my car…or what percentage would be dark enough not to be able to see through…the tint in the back of my car right now you can see through…

been thinking about either tinting or frosting the top portion of my windows that you can see through over my fence. I keep my blinds mostly closed, but cats are cats and sometimes those blinds just have to be pulled down. I just know that one day I won’t notice and I’ll take a shower and end up flashing my neighbors when I get out. ugh.

I’d be carefully if you’re seriously thinking of tinting your entire front window, that’s illegal in most (all?) states.
I’m pretty certain tinting the windshield is 100% illegal. I’ll go one step further and say that only an idiot would tint their windshield.

Well this stuff is 20% and the box even lists 35%.
I just want something so people can’t see directly into the car freely.

Car front window tint, fucking stupid. Fucking stupid. If someone actually bumped into YOU in a car accident they could file a lawsuit against you placing the blame on you as your visibility was reduced. I came across a court case where this happened. The court found the party that actually caused the accident (lane change on a highway) not guilty as the defendant was found at fault for having negatively affected his ability to react in a responsible manner.
If you want to block the view of the inside of your car, buy a front window cover. I have one on my S4, it keeps the temp down.
just call a local window tinter and ask if they’ll put 20% on your windshield. you’ll get the answers you’re looking for.
That’s actually a great idea.
For your bedroom, get mirrored tint. When it’s daylight they won’t see into your room at all. At night, only if your light is on and no lights are on outside. You can still get the percentage you want. Leave that one up for a week like it is and decide if you like it. Or put up 2 side by side.
Regarding your call, call the state DMV or police and ask them what is legal. The rear can doors can usually be darker than the front doors and back. NEVER tint the windshield besides the headliner.

So you dont want the cops seeing you smoking weed we all know that. If you were to cut out each square it would look pretty cool. The reason for non tint is so you can A. See at night B.So cops can see you C. 200 bones for a mini cycle isnt a bad deal its just Totaly to small for most adults. I paid 175 for a Speacilized P2 which retails for 1100 or so US.

Nvm I think you mean the 5% stuff that you can never see through even at night with lights on inside?
My only concern is that when I look through some areas, I can see through the car and see the shadows/silhouettes of the seats (and other people can see me)
At the bomb squad swat team job a few weeks back, I noticed the suburbans they had were fully tinted in the back. You could NOT see through them at ALL.

No dude, when I’m smoking meth in my car, I have these pre-cut pieces of card board for the rear 5 windows.
It’s perfect.
I just place them up there and you can’t see inside – even with night vision on your camcorder – yes, that’s how you can see through sunglasses and window tint.
There are different tints for indoor and outdoor windows.
Make sure you’re using the right one. Some are only one ply etc.
You can tint your windshield but the amount is so small its not worth it. On the front sides I think its 50% and back side windows is 35. Back window is 20. That’s how it is in more strict places. CA might be less tight about it.
20% on the windshield will just get you pulled over and the cop will slash the tint and you’ll spend the next week picking pieces of it off with a paint scraper.

I don’t often chime in on ‘tardo’s threads, but I can’t resist just this once. By all means, tint your windshield, and all other vehicle windows as dark as you possibly can. Use 2 or 3 layers to make sure it’s good and dark. Wait…..Never mind….just spray paint windshield and all other windows with flat black paint. It’ll look bad-ass and you can tell all the chicks that you drive using the force.
At least put some effort into you’re sarcasm next time.
