Long story short, painting the rear fender and the gas tank cover.

Please view images full size and comment on them.

Yes, I know the gas tank cover looks like CRAP primed, but I put about 3 layers to help soak in the cracks, and plan to do about 2-3 layers of the paint.

Finish it off with clear coat and it really helps it not show.

First time stripping/painting plastic, give me a break.

Might re-do the entire gas tank cover.

Paint is about $6 a can, will cover 4 square feet per can (the green metallic)

Also, today some kids literally down the street flagged me down.

They really wanted the chopper.

I told them I paid $200 and they offered $150 but I said I JUST got it and I am going to fix it up and sell it (starting with the paint, obviously)

It’s pretty much BRAND new after I took some 0000 steel wool to the chrome frame, tire shine to the tires, and now painting the plastic parts.

I wonder how much I can get for it?

Also they wanted to trade me a $700 specialized rock hopper for my liquimatic sport roller (go ped without a motor – has everything except the motor)

They were REALLY eager to trade me for the go ped for some reason.

I think I will do it.

I will keep M[C]S updated.

  1. you know, most people use sandpaper before painting so that their paint job doesnt look like shit

  2. At first I thought your mini-bike way stupid and faggy, but now that you’ve painted the tank cover green, I realize that it is awesome and cool. You should ride it to your nearest biker bar, tell them how your bike is better than theirs and they will think you are an awesome and cool guy. But don’t wear a helmet; helmets are for fags.

  4. The cutting on the rear fender looks like it was done by a retarded chimpanzee using safety scissors while having a seizure. I’m sure it was “like that when I bought it” but if you’re going to go to the trouble of painting that POS, you could at least make the cuts look semi-decent.

    • When I got it, it had the bar on the back.

Imagine a square rectangle shaped light fitting in there.

The guy had apparently hit it with something (and I’ve done that a few times just on the 2 rides I’ve taken) and it fucked the fender up.

It literally just snapped off when I applied the brake cleaner (great for removing paint)

I’m going to put a metal bar to replace it, though.

I’ve already ordered some rear blinkers.

I think I will just make 2-3 rows of red LED’s for the tail light in a custom plastic box for the tail light.

  11. I don’t know. I’m all for less pics of him trying on poor fitting clothes in department store dressing rooms, and if that means more pics of home-made mods to vehicles and bikes and even computer cases, at least that’s what he named himself for.

  15. You should have done it matte. It looks better primed than painted.
