Source = Watchmen graphic novel. John just transported Laurie Jupiter from Dreiberg’s house to Mars. This is right before Laurie figures out that The Comedian is her father.

But she gets to land in a smiley crater, so it’s okay.

Are you serious, you didn’t know this was from watchmen, I command you to go read it now, don’t watch the movie (it was horrible) read the book it is fucking epic.

If only there had not been so much glowing blue wang, it would have been a good movie.

it wasn’t horrible. i read the original comics. the movie was brilliant. BRILLIANT!
the same ideas about global unity can’t apply some 20-plus years later, boo hoo. parts we left out or changed minutely, boo hoo. its a movie.
the only proper way to completely convey all the nuance of the books would be to do a 12 hour miniseries on HBO.
still, read the damn book all ready! seriously! BEFORE you see the movie. the greatest comic book movie ever made.

The movie was fucking awesome. You guys will never be satisfied with comic-book adaptations if you disliked Watchmen, I don’t know what the fuck is wrong with you.

“You guys will never be satisfied with comic-book adaptations if you disliked Watchmen”
That is totally true, I don’t think comic books transfer well to movies. Dark Knight got close, but that’s about it. Really top quality stories are crafted to fit their medium. The movie version of Watchmen missed almost all of the symbolism of the comic, the actors were so horrible (especially Ozymandias) that it ruined the plot and they turned it into an action movie.

People are just anal retentive purists who think anything that tries to retell a tale they like will automatically fail. The movie had all the major plot points of the story, and rewrote the ending to make more sense. It wasn’t awful at all, I just like the movie and the comic for their own reasons. People need to get over themselves.

You know what sucks about the ending? In the comic, what’s the first thing that Adrian does that’s evil? He kills all of the artists, writers, etc. that built the squid creature. He literally kills creativity. If you missed the symbolism of that and why changing the ending ruins the point, then you’re honestly too retarded to be discussing this.

um, he did the same thing in the movie, only it was scientists in the movie, and not a handful of “artists” like in the comics

Late to the party as usual, but I liked ’em both. Very well done on both counts. The new ending was definitely tidier.
