she is definatily hot but whats up with the shorts? What she cant pull those up any higher? The waistband has to be way past her belly button.

That’s how women used to wear pants. It may seem weird now but they were also differently built than women today so it looked fantastic on them. I think Scarlet Johansson is one of the few women who is still built like the women from the 60s. It sounds like I’m talking about robot women doesn’t it. Oh that reminds me, The Stepford Wives! Watch that for more examples of both the clothes and women. The original not the remake though.

That style is older than the sixties. That’s about late 40′s mid 50′s. Women couldn’t show their navel or if fully clothed, the area of the navel. Additionally, the leg was the main attraction. Whatever showed more leg, won out.
This is a great pinup. She’s a classic beauty.

I didn’t say the style was from the 60s but this particular shape of a woman was the most dominant during that time, after the 60s it changed greatly though there are some prime examples left like I said in my prior comment.
I agree.

Unfortunately, I have to disagree. That particular shape was dominant during WWII and early Korean War (KW). After the KW, zaftig women such as Mansfield and Monroe came to dominate. That period also introduced Hugh Hefner’s playboy models who were quite a bit “thicker” than these pinups. Also, most pinups during and after the KW were in color.

Not sure what that last bit about the colour has to do with anything. I’m not sure we’re talking about the same shape. I wasn’t just talking about famous women and pin ups but regular women on the streets. Of course it was present during all of those times, my point was that its peak was during the 60s, I don’t think they had that many photos of regular women before then so it’s not exactly possible to determine that precisely. You’ll have trouble finding an exact term to describe the shape I’m talking about so this is a little pointless to be honest.

all I know is that this isnt the style today so therefor it is stupid and should be ridiculed.
July 20, 2010 at 10:17 am
Sound logic. Oh yeah ever heard of how vintage came back in style, is coming back in style and will most likely continue to do so? I guess that really messes with your world view now doesn’t it.
July 20, 2010 at 10:23 am
no it fits perfectly in my worldview, once its in style again it wont be stupid. It will be time to ridicule whatever used to be popular like when women would wear a skirt but having fucking jeans underneath.
July 20, 2010 at 10:47 am
Oh snap, well Scarlett disagrees with you on that one.

It is in style again already. You may not like it but at least it keeps women from wearing that stupid jeans + skirt combination.

what about the terribly furry boots worn with shorts?
July 20, 2010 at 11:06 am
I’m not impressed with ugly shoes even if they’re comfy but I think it’s just something rich people wear for that very reason while pretending it looks good. Look you can’t have everything, let’s just ogle Scarlett and forget everything else.

I betcha those women didn’t preform on The Ed Sullivan Show. lol
I Dream of Jeannie and Gilligan’s Mary Ann could show skin, but no navel at first.

Bu… bu.. but I like cheesecake pin-ups. I prefer it to graphicitiness of today’s porn. Besides, women didn’t even have belly buttons back then!

M[c]s used to be about gutter jokes and internet laughter. Not stupid debates.
July 20, 2010 at 5:53 pm
Tiki LOVES when people debate on his site, he used to egg people on. Debates appeared as soon as his site got popular so unless you wish you had never heard of MCS make some jokes yourself and don’t tell others what they should be doing.
July 20, 2010 at 8:26 pm
This is why you’re hot.
