But the iPod has a 3.5″ screen… why would you output it to a smaller one, that’s out of your eyeline? Get a regular stereo with a 3.5mm jack and get a windscreen mount for your iPod.
Unless you don’t have an iPod in which case yeah it’s alright I guess, but you’re still not gonna be watching any movies on it.

1. It’s got a nice menu for USB drives (a bit hard to read if you’re driving, but I use the random play feature anyways, so it doesn’t matter.
2. What’s the point of getting a regular head unit? I had one. It cost more than this and it had an outdated digital clock formatted screen (don’t know the correct term)
The cheapest 3.5mm + USB in front was $140. Kenwood something at best buy. Had that, returned it a couple days before the return period because I saw this on sale. It’s normally $200.
And yes, I do watch movies on it. And if I ever get a girl in my car, I can impress her with that and maybe watch movies on it with her in the woods or some other deserted place.

Fuck consoles… your passenger would get ill just trying to play a game while leaning over and staring at the 3″ screen. However, put a big ass infrared LED arrays into fog light sockets on your front bumper and a front-facing camera, and you can has night vision for dirt cheap.
Also, USB sockets are one of the greatest advances in car audio in a long time.

How much would that cost?
It has a rear view camera input (which can obviously be hooked up to a switch, and placed in the front)
The parking brake wire was simply grounded and it works.
You’re supposed to hook that up the actual parking break so you can’t use USB or DVD while driving…
DVD makes sense, but USB was just too much.

Hit up eBay and/or SuperBrightLEDs for large arrays of Ir LEDs, or a bucket of loose ones, a blank board, and use an LED calculator on the ‘net to figure out the right values of resistors and wiring configuration for your 12-14V operating car voltage. Hit up eBay or DealExtreme or your local Fry’s for a simple little flush-mountable RCA video output, 12V powered camera. My guess is you can have all of it under $30. I bought a camera like that in Hong Kong for something around $9 US.
Before mounting the cam in a car, make sure it doesn’t have an Ir filter: in a dark room, point a TV remote at it and press buttons… if you can see the light, it’s good.

Actually the dvd quality is very clear. And I don’t watch TV while driving.
1. It doesn’t receive tv signals
2. It’s the fact that I CAN if I want to.
I mainly use it for USB music videos while driving.
The fact that I can watch a DVD if I’m waiting for someone or something like that is just plain awesome.
It’s only hard to see when the sun is reflecting on it somehow.

Better double check your DPS motor vehicle regulations. Most states don’t allow any motion video within the drivers field of vision while the motor vehicle is in motion. Oh and if you get pulled over, Cops are going to give you all kinds of hell.
Yeah that’s a cool price but it doesn’t look like you get any of the cool radio features like Bluetooth, HD Installed, or Satellite.

I usually just use the USB with all my high bitrate songs.
It’s surprisingly good for not having a mid range adjustment.
I never get pulled over. Was driving for a year on a suspended license (was unaware of it)
It’s clean and stock. No reason to pull it over.
Anyways, as I’ve stated above (I think) I had a kenwood basic usb/3.5mm and it was $140 out the door.

This thing retails for $200 and I got it for $100, and has a ton of features.
The main thing I liked about it was the display isn’t just some shitty small digital clock, but a nice LCD with a custom background (possibly changeable)
Just look at the radio interface. Beats the hell out of all the sub $200 head units.
