Source?

Source:Ocean
I showed you a charred dead whale and you want sources? WTF
July 14, 2010 at 9:48 am
This whale is not charred.
Blubbery marine mammals undergoing decomposition assume a burnt appearance.
Here’s a link to some information about a baleen whale which washed ashore in Guinea in 2007.

Nothing here indicates that this whale died in the Gulf of Mexico – in fact the relatively clean water would indicate otherwise. Dead whales have been found worldwide for centuries.
A source might indicate that this whale death is relevant to the situation you indicate. Otherwise, it’s just a dead whale.

I think it’s a mistake. You point out the water is relatively clean, and the fascist rabbit points out Marine mammals decompose and look burnt.
If i didnt take these into account, i’d glance and that and assume thats oil all up on that motherfucker.
Clearly it isnt now i know what i know.
But you know, some dont know what you know. I know. But others dont know.

Allegedly this whale was found dead 77 miles from the spill.
However, because correlation != causality one cannot assume that its death was spill related. Furthermore when you consider a sperm whale’s range and diet it becomes more and more unlikely. Until there is more? any? evidence it’s impossible to say what killed this whale.
Blaming BP in this case (with no evidence or sources) is akin to finding a dead body in a house and jumping to the conclusion that not only was it a murder, but a mob hit.
But why would anyone let critical thinking enter an emotionally charged situation? It’s much easier to: ZOMG BURNED WHALE!!!1!
Thanks for seeing this my way. I got into a discussion on another forum where I was accused of being a lawyer for BP because I presented evidence that the whale was not burned.
I heart you guise.

The water is lava.
July 14, 2010 at 12:09 pm
I think this whale was found in the gulf, but last I heard, they didn’t know what killed it.

Can’t be from the Gulf – Obama just made it illegal to take photos of oiled up animals from the Gulf… thus solving the problem, ONCE AND FOR ALL!
July 15, 2010 at 4:09 am
that doesn’t stop underground leaking of photos if you know where to look. And the majority of animal deaths in the Gulf actually isn’t from the oil at all. It’s from the corexit they sprayed to try and break up the oil. A component of corexit is known to be toxic to fish at 4ppm, or 2.5ppm in the presence of oil, and it was spewed into the gulf at a concentration of 400ppm. Gee, no wonder the fish are dying. Their own body oils are being dissolved. They may as well be swimming in hydrochloric acid.

FUCKING OIL, WHY DOES IT LEAK?
July 15, 2010 at 8:39 am
do you think it’ll be ok?
