June 16, 2010 at 2:24 pm
$10 a gallon??? wtf do you live? Afganistan? check your facts before you post or make BULLSHIT CLAIMS.
June 16, 2010 at 3:19 pm
Considering a bottle of Fiji water is about $0.08 an oz and 128 oz per gallon… That’s $10.24. I’ve seen some go for more per oz, too. On average, $10 may be a high average but not inconceivable. So, you know, check your own facts before calling bullshit.
June 16, 2010 at 5:37 pm
More importantly, this is is about the smaller bottles of water, not about the big jugs. If it was only big jugs, the numbers up there would not be anywhere near as scary.
June 16, 2010 at 6:45 pm

No problem, Moeron, Once you’re done taking the remedial math class, I’ll assist you with your grammar and spelling.
June 17, 2010 at 7:34 am
That would have worked out so much better if I had used correct punctuation.
June 17, 2010 at 3:55 pm

If my water isn’t flown from overseas and packed in diamonds (or kittens) then I don’t want it!
June 16, 2010 at 5:03 pm
would you buy it if it was only local but the bottle was made of diamond and the water was filtered though kittens?

June 17, 2010 at 12:05 am
Well he didn’t exactly gauge my nation accurately in The Patriot.

June 16, 2010 at 7:08 pm
Yep, well water for me too.
I refuse to pay for bottled water, not because I believe that water bottles cause pollution, but because I do not like being ripped off.
June 16, 2010 at 9:33 pm
Ditto. My well water actually tastes pretty go and isn’t ridiculously hard.
June 16, 2010 at 10:36 pm
…tastes pretty good*
June 16, 2010 at 10:42 pm
MY water tastes great.
IT should be hard, most of my county is. All I run is a sediment filter.
June 16, 2010 at 10:32 pm
If you haven’t seen it yet, watch the Penn and Teller show Bullsh*t, they had a great ep on bottled water
June 17, 2010 at 2:06 am
its bollocks though that episode – they repeatedly stress that people cant tell the difference but our council estate lead based paint / swimming bath chlorine level tap water is so far apart from say.. Evian. My friend started spouting all that “its just the temperature” shit having seen the episode – its not…
I stayed at a friends in Holland and his tap water was great, so if it was generally like that then I’d probably agree.
June 17, 2010 at 2:18 am
I remember some news show did a taste test comparing tap water to various bottled waters. The only bottled water that was distinctive was Evian, but generally it was the most disliked one too.
